Topic: Family - Single user nintendo switch online

I am new to using the Nintendo switch

It is registered to me and i think I'm the main account holder.

My daughter Eloise has started to use the switch and she has a user account.

Yesterday I brought a single user switch online code, I applied it to the account.

What I wanted to do was link it up to Eloise so that she can play games with her friends?

Im not sure that I have done that as every time i try to do anything with Eloise it says ‘link to Nintendo account’

Ive tried to link it to my account which I'm thinking this is what it is asking me to do?? but it won’t continue when i try to approve it to send it?

Is this what should happemwhen it says link to account?

Have i applied the switch online to my daughter? i was to see?

Do I need to buy a family account??

Does your daughter need an online account, @yumzone .... ? That's only for multi-player games?
Your daughter needs her own Nintendo account, which is what seems to be the problem?

doe the switch online, save all game data to the cloud and enable online gaming?
Or can you do that without the online membership?

NSO is required for the online save back-up & for online multi-player .... I don't know if you can change your existing single membership to a family one, though

@yumzone Just as a heads up, there are a handful of games that don't get cloud save backup support. Here's a list.

i just set up my three kids under my account as 'children'...so they are all able to access my downloads but it is under their 'child' account. in fact, i was able to add my wife under me as 'family'. hope this helps

All i need to do now is to figure out what to do with my membership?

I brought a single user from cdkeys which i was hoping would work with my daughters account - some how ive linked it to mine.

What to do now? buy a family key or another single code?

FYI you have to have a paid subscription to use Cloud saves without that Cloud saves isn't a option. Just look at NIN online in your Region they will tell you what single and family subscription would cost. Also for each account on the Switch it's best to create a NIN account with different email registered you can't use one email for say 2 or 3 accounts each accounts has their own email registration. This is for should you transfer or move your data to another Switch. Otherwise check with NIN FAQ they have a wealth of information to look at.
