On a surface level, Fae Farm looks like just another cozy farm-sim game. They're a dime a dozen here on Switch. But I contend that, given the history of developer Phoenix Labs, Fae Farm will be something extra. I played Dauntless for a solid couple or few months back on PS4. I think this developer knows the action/rpg genre pretty well.
But the combination of releasing the same week as Starfield and having an asking price of $60...
...this game is going to get lost in the shuffle. As many games tend to do. So I'm here to boost visibility. I will be buying a copy of this game...eventually.
I really want this one and even had it pre-ordered but lost all self- control and bought a Galaxy Z Flip 5 so it's going to have to wait a bit. Hoping for a November-ish sale perhaps.
I don't know whether to get it on the Switch or Steam.
I'm definitely more interested in Fae Farm than Sea of Stars, been waiting for it since the first reveal trailer. Would prefer to get in on Switch rather than PC because these kind of games are perfect for portable play, but first I'll wait for the reviews to find out how the performance is on Switch.
@Magician
Yes, I know. I was more concerned about performance but I'm watching a video of Eeowna playing it on the Switch and it seems to look and run fine.
I have to wait for my paycheck to get this one but a definite play after stopping P4 to get this on on role to see how it goes. It's my PreOrder so going to get the extra hopefully. But from the looks of it like Cat tails.
@DAHstroy yeah, I've been waiting for the game for ages but between only medium-positive reviews and the $60 price, I am leaning towards waiting for good sales even though I do really want to play
Is anyone playing this? Curious about how it plays.

I am loving it. Alot of gathering and dungeon exploring for materials. But one has to strategically time when to go into dungeon and do above side quest at the same time. At least you don't loose your stuff at midnight. Did finally find it after looking at mailbox but some I didn't see or locate.
@FishyS Yeah, it’s unfortunate that it seems like Fae Farm’s anticipation and hype fell apart right before release. They had to go and blow it with weird pricing between different platforms, and lackluster RPG elements… it’s a shame really.
I was visualizing marrying people after basically the same interaction 100 times in a row and it made me think....
Imagine if you could marry villagers in Animal Crossing. 🤔
For Fae Farm, I finally decided to just wait for a sale.
Has anyone figure how to change your name on there that you use for your Switch from being used? I can change house name but would like different name to be called on Switch. ugh, just found some info need to create Phoneix lab account to change user name. More work now.
@DAHstroy Thanks! I will wait on a sale. Playing Starfield right now anyway.

Hello All, I posted a topic "Glitch with Wisp Mother" outside of this thread. Thought I was posting inside here--oops. Anyway, if you would kindly review that and see what your thoughts are on that? Maybe someone has an idea of what I can do? Thank you for your time!
Well, it only took 18 months, but I finally fired this up over the week. I put somewhere over five hours into it, having just began chapter four. It is very much a gathering/crafting life-sim lite game. If you've played My Time at Portia, Stardew Valley, or Stranded Sails...you known what you're in for.

@Magician You waited long enough for some quality of life features to be added and also for a couple silly very unnecessary things to be added.
I played it a fair amount last year; I agree there is nothing super new though I do really like that you eventually get a double jump which is pretty darn unusual for the genre.
The final update was probably the late 2024 one since basically the whole team got fired earlier this year...
Yeah, the news of the development studio's woes hit me with fomo, so I decided to finally purchase a physical copy. I've been wanting to play the game, but I didn't want to risk paying more than msrp later on.

Ten hours in, halfway through the second dungeon. Even with ten levels in mining and all fae gear, resource gathering is depleting energy pretty quickly now. Enemies are beginning to hit kind of hard. Feels like I have to look into potions to extend my time in dungeons.

I made it to chapter seven and had to stop playing. Once I entered the lava biome I began having serious bugs and performance issues. The music quality dropped to a crackling, stuttering mess. The framerate dipped below 30fps. And the amount of lag with more than a couple enemies on screen became unbearable.
Mildly tragic. I was having fun up until this point in the game.
I would now qualify this game as a "do not buy".
