Preorders for the physical version of this game opens up tomorrow via Limited Run Games. I have this game on the PS4, Xbox 360 and PC and is probably my favorite Metroidvania right behind Castlevania Symphony of the Night, so I will be indeed preordering it. I don't know if anyone else is looking forward to this game but if anyone is, I figure we can discuss it here

It is really an amazing game and it was all done by one person.

To better explain it here's the trailer

Never actually played the game but i heard a lot of good things about it so i think i will go with physical release. It also looks really pretty, i love that hand drawn art style, gameplay looks solid. I am almost sure i will greatly enjoy this game.

Game play is very solid. As a metroidvenia type game, there's a bit less exploration then you might expect. But combat is rather tight, the platforming is at times tricky without being extremely difficult, and the story is interesting.

@Yorumi I've played Dust: AET on a mobile phone, and it runs just fine. I wouldn't worry about its performance on Switch. Fabulous game, by the way. Great combat, nice metroidvania elements and super character design and world-building. It's like playing a Saturday morning cartoon.

Get it before the Collectors Edition sells out...otherwise you have the Standard version to order til the closed pre-order date is done.

@Yorumi The price is more then likely not LGR it's Nintendo. Alot of games are cost more on the Switch. Look at like Doom for example that came out for $59.99 where as you could get it on PS4 or Xbox One for like $20. LA Noire was $10 more and a few others as well. Just how it is.

So I managed to snag the collectors edition from Limited Run Games which along with the game comes the soundtrack CD, a Fidget plushie, a poster and a USB Drive in the shape of the Sword all for $70.

I played this game because Microsoft was literally giving it away one month as one of the free Games with Gold games. But it's a solid enough game, I may buy it on the switch too.

100%ed this game on the ps4 when it came to plus. Very well built solid game. Don't think I will double dip but I highly recommend it if you enjoy Metroidvania games. Great gameplay and a unique artsyle!

Bought the LRG CE version for whopping 70.49 when done but if you want Collector's Edition that is your choice but they do have Standard release as well. To me if they can get it to NSW physical it's worth collecting even if you don't get to play them all. Physical on NSW until this is a everyday thing missing them will mean paying Scalpers on eBay for the same game that you could've had for less at release date.

Doom was $59 on release on both XBox and PS4. The price dropped after a few months because its sales were significantly lower than projected, and people had pretty much stopped buying it two months after its launch.

Contrary to what a lot of people here like to say, PS4 and Xbox titles tend to launch at the same prices as Switch games, and their prices don't drop all that much until they stop selling and/or are replaced by the next installments in their series. Call of Duty WWII and Assassin's Creed Origins both launched a little earlier on the Twins than Doom on the Switch, and both were initially $60. At this time CODWWII sells for $35 and ACO sells for $40. In both cases the price drops happened when sales had dropped significantly due to new games crowding them out. Switch does not yet have this effect as there are not as many games for it yet.

If you look at games that actually release at the same time on all three consoles, the prices are almost always exactly the same. Crash Bandicoot, for example, is $36-40 on every console.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

@Fake-E-Lee I agree Dust is such an amazing game in fact it's probably my second favorite Metroidvania game right behind Castlevania Symphony of the Night. There is a reason that I bought Dust 4 times now.

@darkfenrir so there's definitely sinc some more platforming later in in the game, but still more traversal type platforming then hollow Knights precision platforming. I'd say where hollow Knight is more Metroid meets dark souls meets mega Man, this is more pure Igavania then Metroid.

Plus it's a little bit brawler, a little shmup. It's really so good and so addictive. And it doesn't feel indie at all, it's fully voice acted, has cut scenes etc. Feels likea full retail game from a budget publisher like Focus than it does indie.

It's too easy in the first half but hits a severe difficulty Spike at 50%. That's a pacing issue that evens out again once you level up more. Grinding is possible if desired.

As someone who just can't enjoy hollow Knight, i can highe highly recommend dust!

@NEStalgia That sounds reaaaaaaaaaaally good! I'll pick this up when I have finished my backlog!

(or if it goes cheap enough on Steam... probably this will come first)

Thank you for the tag

@darkfenrir np! And sorry for all the typos... Google keyboard "upgraded" and now word complete, spacing, word delete, and swipe recognition is a disaster

I encourage all who have not played this game, to get it.
I %100 the game (twice, once on console and again on PC) on the hardest difficulty and I feel it to be a great game, especially since it was made by basically one guy.

@Tasuki According to LRG's website, they are waiting on some update with ESRB about Dust.
So I think its very unlikely they will be shipped out next month

Besides the game collectors edition comes with a soundtrack CD, a Fidget Plushie keychain and a Sword flashdrive which comes in this oversized box. I am looking forward to playing it again having finished it several times before on the Xbox 360 and PS4.
