This is a good example of, "hey, that game released, and...crickets."
Newly released today. I don't know why, but I get Eternal Champion vibes, for better or worse.
I think this game looks cool. The animation and character designs look rad. But it appears nobody is covering it? No Metacritic scores. No Opencritic scores. Just...silence...
I saw Diesel Legacy covered in Jordan’s weekly “Let’s Get Physical” new game roundup on YouTube recently, and it looked good to me, too: a 2vs2 fighting game, 2D, but it has 3 different fields of depth you can hop between. It reminded me of Guardian Heroes somewhat, one of my favorites from the Saturn.
Maybe it’s just been overshadowed by all the Black Friday hubbub.
A stone cold classic. I remember the XBLA port being fairly good. I wonder why that version hadn't been circulated by Sega again since?
That is a good question worthy of researching, had I the time! I only ever played Guardian Heroes on the Saturn and wasn't aware of an XB port. But truly it was an excellent game, that ended too soon. I would buy a port or remaster without hesitation.
AFAIK it's an original IP, but maybe Sega shares the rights with Treasure (the game's dev studio) and that is complicating things?
