Topic: Dead or School

@bixente - I do. It feels like a solid 6/10 in the few hours I've played it. I enjoy the combat, the gameplay loop, and the atmosphere. But there are better games in the genre.

@Magician do you still recommend it though? It’s 90+% recommended on steam but $30 on Switch.

As I said, there are better options in the genre. I can't recommend Katana Kami over Diablo III or Torchlight II as both games have the same gameplay loop and a higher level of presentation. Even in the same action/rpg genre I would be quicker to recommend Ys VIII, Dragon's Dogma, or Dark Souls even though the gameplay loop is different in those games than in Katana Kami.

@scoobdoo - Sorry, my attention was divided. Anywho, my Dead or School thoughts? It's much less of a Metroidvania than I was expecting, it's a pretty linear experience. And it's much more challenging than I thought it would be as I had to dial back the difficulty level early on. Although there's no connection between the games, Dead or School feels similar to Batman on NES. A challenging action/platformer with a gearing-up progression system and some very slight backtracking.

$30 seems a little steep, I only paid $25 for my physical copy, new. I would add it to your wish list and wait for the price to hit $15-$20.
