Topic: Could the NX be the 3DS replacement?

Everyone knows the 3DS is a few years older than the Wii U, and that Nintendo releases their next-gen handheld (most of the time) before the next-gen console, so do you think the NX could release in 2017 and replace the 3DS?

Well if it's a handheld, it's replacing the 3DS, if it's a console, it's replacing the Wii U

No, the New 3DS has only just came out so the Wii U will have lived for longer than the New 3DS. Therefore, I think the Nintendo NX will be a console.

But 3DS was still a lot more popular than Wii U so I don't think it needs replacing yet (then again replacing a not so successful console so quickly was what killed Sega...)

The New 3DS is actually like an upgraded or ultimate version of the 3DS kind of like the DSI, Game Boy COLOR, Game Boy Advance SP etc.

The DSi hadn't been out for very long when the 3DS was made official.

It is most likely a console because that is the market where they are bleeding consumers like they woke up in a bathtub with the kidney missing.
Nothing is impossible with this company and their perspective of Japan-first.

No point in speculating now as we have zero idea about anything about this console.

According to Nintendo, it's not meant to replace anything.

Then again, the DS line wasn't meant to replace the Game Boy.

I think it's a possibility.
