Topic: Chants of Sennar Hint?

Edit: I'm an idiot. You need to enter the lab code into the door, number by number. There's no feedback on if you're right or wrong until you've entered the whole sequence. Solved.

Hi, I'm playing Children of Sennar. I absolutely love it. If you haven't played it, don't read this thread.

I'm at the end of the game. I've done everything except for three things.

1. Open the door to lab 3. I know the code, but I think I need to power the lab door, which I haven't yet figured out how to do.
2. Open the small purple door west of the library, down the stairs.
3. Created the right key to fit the Fairy Gate.

I've literally completed everything else there is to do. I translated the white board of formulas, but it doesn't offer any clues as to the actual measurements for the weights. I think the measurements might be in lab 3, but I can't get it open because there's no power. I have no idea where the key is for the small purple door.

I cheated a few times to get this far, some of which I blame myself for, and others I blame the game for. But I've been really proud to figure out chapter 4, and I want to figure it out on my own, but I've already spent like two hours running around, seeing what I might have missed, to try to figure it out. I have other games to play.

I know I can't just look up a guide, but I'm hoping one of you could give me a small hint as to my next step so I retain a little pride in my accomplishment.

@WoomyNNYes ugh, I use swype, and it works like 3% of the time. I need to check every single word.

Look at YouTube for hints.
