I have been thinking of starting up this game finally. Bought when it first came out on PS4 but due to not having the vertices split screen at launch I couldn't play it. I bought the Ultimate Edition on Xbox Series X last week for.$30 so I figure I give it a shot.
Thinking of playing as Zane but not quite sure. If anyone has suggestions more then happy to hear them.

With Borderlands 4 coming in a few weeks I figure I'd pick up this game again. Current I am on Eden 6 which I am enjoying alot. I love the swamp/bayou look this world has and the Jakob's mansion is a fun area.
Right now I am playing a siren focusing on crown control.

I can see why BL3 is not the best one in the series for alot of people. The main story is such a slogan. The pacing is just horrible. I am trying to push myself forward so I can finish it and start 4 but its such a slog. I come to find out I am maybe half way through it.

Oh ya? I was gonna play it overclocking for 60fps but it sounds like its best to stick with BL2 and Pre-Sequel. The first didn't do it for me. But those 2 sure did.
I hope BL4 is good on Switch 2 but with reports of issues on other platforms I'm not holding my breath. Maybe they can patch it up but if not, Im happy with the Handsome Collection, and they have gyro aiming.

@JaxonH I dont know how BL3 runs on Switch, I am playing it on Series X, but its not a performance issue that made me dislike this one. As I said the main thing is just the pacing. I see what they wanted to do but its just too much. They tried to make this the biggest BL3 adventure yet and understandable especially since each zone is a planet but for me its just to big and as a result of them having a whole planet as a zone they added a bunch of padding and filler to the main story, and I am not talking about side quests either. Just the travel time alone to get from point a in a quest to point b can be slog especially since every few feet you end up in a fight which if you fight everything you run into you easily out level the zones. If you are like me and want to explore everywhere well then its super easy to out level stuff even to the point where the loot drops dont matter because you know its going to be worst the. What you got.
Again not bad just not thought out IMO. Unless you are a diehard Borderlands fan and even then you can probably skip this one. If you want to catch up on the story you, I suggest maybe finding a video summery on YouTube or something like that.

Well Im not sure Im even buying Borderlands 4 yet. Gonna wait to see how it runs on NSW2 and if its unsatisfactory I'll be waiting for updates to fix it (which may never come). Which is fine. I have BL2 and TPS which have gyro and still look good as far as I'm concerned. But I am hoping BL4 can run stable, even if it takes a month or two of patches.
I held off on WWE 2K25 after the 2k18 fiasco and it turns out its one of the best ports on the system. Only problem there is, I dont wanna spend $130 but thats clearly the version to get cause Im not gonna play enough to be unlocking all this stuff. Which means > wait til next year and then grab 2k25 Ultimate Edition on sale for $60-70. Won't be needing annual releases anyways- 1 for the generation is plenty fine for me.
Sucks to hear about BL3 though. Cause not only can it run well overclocked on NSW1 it runs well on NSW2 also, barring some weird color shade issues. Oh well. Plenty of other FPS to look forward to, even within the NSW1 library running on NSW2. The Crisis trilogy runs flawlessly for example and look great. Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands 2, Borderlands Pre-Sequel, Metro 2033, Metro Last Light, we know Call of Duty is coming... of course most of those don't have the loot gameplay hook which is what BL is all about. So ya, I really hope BL4 can get patched up into a stable 30fps on NSW2 (assuming it isn't there at launch, which it doesn't sound like it will be).
It's a shame the FPS isn't as popular as it used to be. There just aren't as many games releasing in that perspective. DOOM Dark Ages was... let's just say different. Metroid Prime 4 has the perspective but its no FPS. Indiana Jones has the perspective but its also no FPS.
If Borderlands 4 doesnt pan out I hope Outwmer Worlds 2 comes to Switch. Or a NSW2 version of DOOM, DOOM Eternal and Wolfenstein 2. Heck, more than anything I want Wolfenstein New Order, my favorite FPS of all time. Seems that game has been long forgotten in the dustbin of gaming history

@JaxonH To be honest BL3 after playing BL3 for a few hours the novelty quickly wore off for me. Yeah it was Bordrlands but something just felt off to me. The villians just didnt do it for me and are more annoying then anything and even the Vault hunters didnt impress me. Honestly if it was Borderlands I probably would have skipped it.
Four however has piqued my interest again. From what I have seen from the main villian he seems alot better then the Calypso Twins and the Vault Hunters look more interesting, Vex and Amon particularly for me and the fact that its open world heck yeah. The biggest thing that caught my attention was the fact that once you get a character to level 31 and finish the story you dont have to do the story with another character all over again, something like Diablo III. That was my main problem with Borderlands is that if you wanted to try one of the other hunters you had to replay the story, heck even if you wanted to hit max level you had to replay the store at a higher difficulty level. Even Borderlands 2 which was my favorite burned me out due to having to replay the story 16 times to max out 4 Vault hunters. I still have not maxed out Salvador or Axton to this day. So by 4 going the route of Diablo 3 has me really excited.
FPS does seem like its dieing out but that's cause these suits all want their FPS to be like Fortnite. If its not like Fortnite they dont want it. Just look what Ubisoft did to XDefiant.
As for Indiana Jones, well I think that set out exactly what they wanted to do. Indiana Jones wasn't meant to be an FPS but everyone assumed that because it was the people that did Wolfenstein. Even if you go back and watch the movies Indy didnt go running around guns blazing like Rambo. The devs went with the FPS look to make you feel like Indy which they did. Hell Great Circle reminds me more gameplay wise of Skyrim or Fallout then Wolfenstein, but that's a subject for another thread.
As for BL4 I do have high hopes for this one but we will see. I still want to finish 3 and hopefully by the time I do, all the patches will be done and it will be running good.

So I am finally done with Eden-6. Finally got all the vault pieces and opend the vault there and fought the creature there. The battle wasn't to hard, mostly pattern based and if you just payed attention to it it was easy enough. My final thoughts on Eden-6 was I liked the atmosphere alot. The swamp, bayou, Louisiana feel to it was enjoyable. Them mansion was fun to explore. Like most of this game they didnt need to make your time on Eden-6 as long as they did. They could have easily told their just by having you get the full vault key rather then break it into 3 pieces. They only storyline worth telling was the Jakobs one.
Anyway after the Calypso Twins kidnapped Tannis, it looks like I am back to Pandora.

Finally finished Borderlands 3 main story, and so here is my thoughts on the game in general.
Overall it was a good game and a decent entry into the franchise. Gameplay is nothing new, its a Borderlands game its loot and shoot loot and shoot. Yeah they added some new mechanics like the slide and butt slam and of course the vault hunters have unique abilities but over all nothing too different from 2 game play wise.
Story wise this is a tough one to judge. Overall I did enjoy the main story The Calypso Twins were good adversaries and once you finally got to their story I did like them and their reasoning for doing what they did. Thats where the problem was with this game compared to 2 was the pacing of the story. There was just so much unnecessary padding in the story that it just made the game a slog at times. I get it they had big shoes to fill after Borderlands 2 and they were trying to make the game bigger and longer then 2 but really it was unnecessary. Going to the different planets was neat and the fact that each planet felt unique and different was great but that's were the slog of the story would happen. There was was the main story of going to other planets to get vault keys from them which was a race against the Twins but the fact that they side quests wrapped up into the main story the just lagged. It wasn't just go to the planet and get the key it was no go to the planet do a bunch of favors for whoever had the key and then get the key. Again I get it the wanted to show off each planet but I didnt need to know each keyholders problems and their story had nothing to do with the Twins so it felt like padding to make the game longer.
As for the Twins, their story was great. It was another tragic story like Handsome Jack's but a different kind of tragic. It made it quite satisfying when you finally beat them and it wrapped up Pandora's story nicely too. It manged to flesh out alot of things from Borderlands 1 and 2 and explained alot in a good way and not just rewriting something from the past. If anything it expanded it. This game is great lore wise for the entire series, more so then any other.
At.the end of the day I'd give the game a 6/10 but that's due to the pacing of the game. The characters were great, the lore was great and it wraps up the trilogy up perfectly just a shame they couldnt get to the point quicker.

Finished off The Handsome Jackpot DLC Last night. Very very enjoyable DLC in fact I liked it better then the main storyline. If you are a Borderlands 2 fan then you gotta play this DLC. Overall not to hard only had one problem boss and the end boss was a great fight. The casino setting was different but didnt feel out of place for Borderlands. Alot of people say this DLC was homage to the Fallout New Vegas DLC Dead Money which I can see but to me it also felt like they took some ideas from Bioshock and of course Heist movies. Still any enjoyable playtrough and great to see Jack again. I also like how they brought Timothy in from Pre-sequel and the ending was great. As DLCs go I would give this one 8/10 due to the one boss.
