I'm looking at getting another game for the Switch. Both games look interesting, I've never played either in the series. Do you get a decent work out with Arms?

If not though, I really enjoy ARMS, but Splatoon 2 is a lot more popular, getting more constant updates, and has a better campaign and variety. ARMS isn't much of a work out, it's just punching meaning you won't burn much calories. I have seen people use the game on treadmills and run when they play it though, which would make it a good workout. To be honest if you play online ARMS and use motion controls you will probably be a lot worse than most people using standard controls. So in all, I'd say Splatoon 2
As much as I loved playing Splatoon with a friend, via co-op or just a vs match... there's not much for you to do.. Splatoon will have you playing longer, if you want more value out of your money.
