I'm getting a switch lite next week and plan to get Animal Crossing (which I'm completely new to). My boyfriend has a regular switch with a dock so he can play games on his TV. Can I play my Animal Crossing on both? Just wondering because while it's nice to have a handheld because it's portable, it would also be nice to play on a big screen every so often.....
@laurelash0 : Switch Lite can only be used as a handheld device. You will need a regular Switch in order to play in TV mode.
Animal Crossing save data is also console locked, so you cannot share an island with your boyfriend unless you both play using the same Switch console (and save data for Animal Crossing cannot be transferred to another Switch console, but most other games do allow you to transfer data between consoles).
If you have the retail edition, you can both use the cartridge in order to play the game as save data is stored on your console's internal memory, not the cartridge itself.
I hope this helps.
Porygon did nothing wrong.
