I've heard bad things about 3rd party docks.
I really just want one to keep at a friends house when I want to do my ring fit workout there and don't want to spend 80 bucks just to have it on a bigger screen.
With regards to 3rd party docks, is the concern that the docking station won't work? (I can live with that and just return it), or is the concern it will brick the Switch?
I've read this article recently but not sure I can trust it

is there a safe and cheaper alternative to buying another docking station for the switch?

Maybe look online for an official dock by Nintendo. Other then that there really isn't a cheaper alternative unfortunately. I mean you can try a third party dock but you risk the chance of bricking your system. So in the end you'd be better off paying the price for an official dock.

That's kind of a bummer. I'd probably use it at their house like 3 times a month (not worth it)
I think I'll just suffer with the tiny screen. Thanks for the reply

@darthcervantes Hmm I forgot/missed a detail. I was hypnotized by the lower prices. Both of those are sold without an AC adapter. Disregard if you noticed. So, I guess they aren't really a deal, if you need an AC adapter to go with the new dock.

Unless there is a independent tester of all 3rd party Dock - best to stay with official Nintendo Dock.
