Why are people so tribal on this topic? It’s about a device for entertainment purposes!
My entire point can be boiled down to “we should demand better than the efforts most of these filthy rich mega corporations put out for this console”, and somehow many of you will spend significant energy over dozens of lengthy paragraphs arguing I’m being unreasonable for setting a higher bar.

All I’ll say is: Stop acting like unpaid interns in training for these publishers and companies in general. Demand more for your money. There’s so much competition. Don’t let them fool you with FOMO tactics and whatever else it is that convinced you these games are worth defending as if it were your job. The only people benefiting are shareholders whose wealth is siphoned from your bank account. They. Don’t. Care.

For me... well, I know they don't care because otherwise there would have been a region for my country and it will have cheaper, regional price (tbh, even then I probably also don't expect them to care, for example: I don't think Valve cares)

But like... I'm not sure what do you expect out of a tablet I guess? Cheapo one at that? Like the 3rd party is running decently from what I could see considering the specs, on some times it runs better than handheld pc (Star Wars Outlaw), at other times it doesn't run as good (Cronos I think doesn't seem to run the best, but servicable from what people say).

Like, I don't think they can just magically make it run better kind of thing? Can it be better? Maybe, probably. I'm not the dev, and if you aren't the one working on it and knowing how the codes are under the hood, I don't think you can know exactly.

Switch 2 is a HANDHELD, that gained a BOOST when DOCKING. It's a hybrid, but at its core, it works out from handheld form! Playstation 5 uses 200+ watts! Switch 2 is ~20 Watt even on Docked! it's 10% of what PS5 uses! what do you expect out of the thing!

You can say that we have to expect better all the time, but at the same time, we have to know how the machine is. How weak, how strong it is.

Legit, it feels like reading someone buying GTX 1660 and then asking why doesn't this thing able to run the latest and greatest game at 1080p60

Except that wasn't your point. Your point was that Nintendo should wholesale block the release of titles that don't meet some arbitrary image quality standard. One that Star Wars Outlaws, Hogwarts Legacy and Cyberpunk apparently do not meet

My point was that this is silly. That having more options available is a good thing. That the situation regarding ports on Switch 2 isn't too bad considering it's a portable device. And that it should be up to the developer, publisher and ultimately the consumer to decide whether or not any visual or performance compromises, should they exist, are worth it

If we were talking about literal scam games and games that launched in unplayable states then sure. If you want to argue that Nintendo needs a better refund system then ok, I agree, without any debate. If you want to argue that a lot of these publishers are pushing out focus group driven derivative slop then I'll back you in that discussion

But you weren't arguing any of these things. You were arguing that these games were in an unacceptable state and then doubled down saying Nintendo should remove them from sale. And that's just bonkers

Also, the good old days of bespoke ports. That's nice. But it was also expensive. What you're suggesting would again just mean that these games do not exist at all. Again, developers and publishers should not be restricted like this. Complete fantasy land stuff. It's even more naive, nonsensical and detached from reality than the people who argue against patches

It's a forum. Respectfully I wasn't wanting your input to my response, you've shown that you are incapable of it. I was just making it clear for the people in the back that your view is that Nintendo should strong arm third parties, control what they release, and ban the sale of ports that do not meet your personal standards

It's lunacy

Demanding more than whats realistically feasible is a lost cost out the gate. A lot of these games released before Switch 2 existed. Should we then say we don't want them on the system? At all, because they weren't built ground up for it? Hell no! I still want those games on the system. Even if they were completed before this system ever released. Doesn't mean it can't still be a competent port with satisfactory performance and still utilizes unique features like habdheld and tabletop play, gyro, mouse, and touch support with HD Rumble. Many of which these games are doing exactly that. What more could one possibly ask for? Rewind time 5 years ago and start developing it with the system in mind. Before they ever knew it existed or had a dev kit?

If we are getting AAA current gen games on a 10W hybrid running with smooth 30fps and unique features like gyro and mouse aiming, that's going well above and beyond. And not every game needs gyro, aiming or mouse integration, in which case there's really nothing more to do than just provide a solid port that runs stable.

What i'm seeing is more than satisfactory and if it's not satisfactory for others i'm sorry but that's just what it is. What more do you want them to do? Gyro and moise are the defining characteristics besides handheld play. So when a game releases that offers all that, the whole enchilada, there's nothing to complain about. On the contrary, there should be a celebration that we are finally getting gains in a playable state. Because as far as i'm concerned, any game tethered to a television is unplayable to me. Any game with aiming that does not allow gyro or mouse is unplayable to me. We are getting games. Then check all three boxes. It's a paradigm shift, and if that's not good enough for some people, hey, sucks, to be them and I don't mean that in a snotty condescending manner, but what else is there to say. If that's not good enough, then it's just not good enough. Play games on PS5. Or keep complaining about things that are never going to change, because they are literally doing everything they can to take advantage of the system's unique features, and stay miserable. But don't mind the rest of us while we are having the time of our lives with it.

I'll demand better from third parties. If the game can't hold a solid thirty frames and doesnt utilize gyro when it should. Barring that, I'm happy.
