why doesn't Nintendo buy game freak's stake in the pokemon company, then get a different dev, like Monolith or (!!!) they could ask Sakurai-san to work on pokemon games. Seriously, just imagine a Pokemon game directed by Sakurai!
@MoldyPasta That would cost a serious amount of money and probably also go against the legal agreements which were put into the creation of the Pokemon Company - certainly if they tried to do it in a hostile way anyways. Plus I assume Nintendo likes being able to insert their opinion about game direction but otherwise lay back and let the money flow to them; no need to change the status quo while Pokemon is still one of Nintendo's biggest money makers.
