Standout titles I played this year, that didn't come out in 2025?
-Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. One of the best metroidvanias I've played in recent memory, and its a serious tragedy that Ubisoft declared it dead.
-Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak. I am a Trails megafan, and this is one of the strongest in the series.
-Ghost of Tsushima. Is it ultimately an ubiclone? Yes. . . but its an "ubiclone" done right, far better than anything actually done by Ubisoft.
-Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. A big step up in quality from Owlcat ( I am not an undiluted fan of their Pathfinder games ). Earns a huge amount of bonus credit simply for having an achievable Golden Ending, and generally making the character come off as human.
I'm gonna pick Kirby Star Allies as my Game of Not-This-Year. Hadn't touched the game since it launched in 2018 but revisiting it was nice. The post game in particular was fantastic.
