@nitrolink I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Warriors game for Fortune's Weave, but I don't think it'll be as likely given that Koei helped on Three Houses, but they didn't help at all with Fortune's Weave.
That being said, I think one of the worst announcements in the last direct had to have been Age of Calamity Definitive Edition. For some reason Koei is allergic to giving people a Switch 2 Edition and making the upgrade as simple as that. They seem to be wanting people to buy the entire game again for the second time, going off of how they only offer people a discount if they've already bought the game before.

Third parties do what third parties do. But then again, if Nintendo forced them to go a certain way, they'd just leave (Again).
As for some lighter news, I learned today Kotaku is still salty about being blacklisted by Nintendo for the stunt they pulled in 2021, and Eurogamer has writers so young they didn't know Kirby got a green hat with his sword ability and thus the new Kirby game is a Zelda crossover.
The mind boggles as to why the industry is on fire, and it's because no one in the "media" has the literacy to call it out....or they advocate for pre-release piracy and moan when they get blacklisted.
Still, that Kirby game looks neat.

@Haruki_NLI It's insane to see that there are people who don't know that Kirby's sword powerup design has always been that way. It definitely started as a reference to Zelda, but it isn't a "crossover," just a homage. I wish people would actively do research on older games, rather than ignoring that they exist outright. I'm 24 years old, and I even have knowledge on games from back before I was born.

Like legendary levels of ineptitude, and their editor popped into the comments to say they were rushed and had to update the article because they get things wrong during a Direct when they are pumping out so many articles.....yet it was also the last announcement so....couldn't it wait?
Important update about the best game inexplicably not updated during this Direct, they announced Muramasa is at the start of February. Could've sworn it was confirmed January but I did check the Direct footage and it was just vaguely Early 2027 in that footage.
But this does mean my two most anticipated games with Metroid and Muramasa are gonna release within like a week of each other. PEAK GAMING TO START 2027!
@VoidofLight I love Omegaforce but it doesn't speak the best for Koei Tecmo that they have not a real Switch 2 Edition, and also the only first party Nintendo GKC. Especially since I've heard the Warriors games elsewhere are often horrendous when it comes to over-relying on re-releases and way too much DLC. (even the original Hyrule Warriors was the one where you got different things for pre-ordering at different retailers too IIRC)
@Haruki_NLI I love how this article refers to the giant sword as the Master Sword when it doesn't look much like it (I guuuesss if you squint you can see some similarities, but for the most part it's very different). You wanna talk brainrot, this is some Zelda brainrot content right here. Does this guy think every magical sword is the Master Sword? Is Excalibur the Master Sword? Is Zacian's sword the Master Sword? Is a Lightsaber the Master Sword? Is the random wooden sword I bought at an arts and crafts festival when I was 6 the Master Sword?
@kkslider5552000 It's actually pretty interesting how it seemed like over the years Nintendo reigned Koei in a bit with that. The original Hyrule Warriors had a lot of DLC and pre-order bonuses like you said, but then every game since it's gotten to be less and less- until we got to Three Hopes where it just flat out never got DLC. It seems like with how they're doing this whole thing with Age of Calamity, we might not actually be getting DLC for Age of Imprisonment either.
Also yeah, it just feels like it's in this strange place to me where I don't get how Nintendo allowed them to do this. Especially since they usually tend to push for Switch 2 Editions of games that use their IP or of their IP outright. All I know is that I don't think many people seem to be interested in it because of Age of Imprisonment existing, alongside with how you might need to pay for the game again if you bought the Switch 1 copy physically (I've heard rumblings of that, but I don't know how true it actually is).

I get that with video game news these sites tend to want to pump out articles fast so that they're the first to get clicks, but it still feels sad knowing that at the end of the day that's all that matters. News sites rather either make a fool of themselves, or spread misinformation than get something correct and accurate before publishing articles now.

@squiddu-real That's how it is for me, I occasionally look at the articles- but I'm more using this site because of the forums than I am because of the news articles. I used to watch the YouTube channel back a few years ago, but eventually found out that most of the stuff covered there was covered on here first... and then I started to also feel like the stuff on this site was also somewhat redundant to read, so I don't really bother unless it catches my interest/is a review for a game I'm on the fence about.

I've had very little use for mainstream game sites since Switch started getting a large enough amount of games to not have to care about finding bits of news for first party Nintendo games between all the nothing happening. Very few writers in the field really stick out to me, the only other site I consistently (used to) read (Destructoid) had a painful slow death into being unusable to view thanks to ads, and every other site only gets attention when they write something embarrassing and is otherwise often just existing to use up newbie would be writers for bare minimum pay to make slop that can hopefully show up on Google trends. Edit: Thinking about it, even with Destructoid, it was the community that often made that place cool, one of the only places where the comments were regularly worth reading.
Also Youtube killed them, since a large amount of appeal of many gaming sites was always their video content, so most people whose opinions are worth caring about are generally better off doing their own thing anyway (and a lot of them partially exist as Youtube channels just as much as actual sites anyway). I don't have the degree of cynicism about the people who do it, but the job does not lead to things that are all that interesting to read. Even back in the day, on the first gaming site I ever went on, Gamespot, the things I remember more are the words said outloud in video reviews more than the actual written reviews.
I honestly mostly get my news from gematsu (more general gaming news) and rpgsite (rpg stuff, just like the name), with some smattering from nintendoeverything (more niche nintendo content since they post pretty well and has decency to throw fixing when it happens).

@squiddu-real anything that nl reports on are always just surface level 'leaks' from some cloutchasing twitter user. if you are actually interested in leaks, you would know that these are nothingburgers
@kkslider5552000 I kinda always found YouTube videos to be one of the worst sources to get news- unless it's like a trailer from an official channel. Watching 10-20 minute videos on a topic that could've been talked about in two minutes or less is why I just stopped watching video game news channels as a whole honestly. Having a personality on screen is nice, but I'd just rather read or skim articles because I can get the info a lot faster without having someone slowly talk about it.

Do you guys think the rumor of Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald going to be re-released in late September/October is likely real? Since they didn’t announce it at this Direct I am losing hope of it coming out during this timeframe.
