The FireRed/LeafGreen re-releases were announced a week before their release date so it's still possible they will be released/announced in that timeframe (if that rumor is real, I'm not convinced that it is), plus Pokémon stuff tends to get announced outside of Nintendo Directs so Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald re-release not being announced there doesn't mean anything

@Don Maybe as a Hoenn collection for £50/$60 (not available standalone)? Nintendo still hasn't addressed their promise to release NSO voucher games throughout 2026 so there might still be an unannounced Switch 1 game for this year.

Alternatively, it may have been that they planned to sell Rhythm Heaven Groove for an NSO voucher eligible price (£40/$50 or higher) but then changed their mind when Mario Tennis Fever flopped.

I think Nintendo may have a rule where you're not allowed to put up preorders for a game on Nintendo hardware if there's no gameplay of the Nintendo version.

I had my suspicions with MW4 where all the other version preorders went live in May but Switch 2 preorders went up in late August when Switch 2 previews went live and the beta was available. FFVII Revelation solidifies the theory to me considering how short the segment in the general Direct was.

@Grumblevolcano Which would make sense. Currently can't preorder Rayman Legends either.

Don't want people buying something on false footage, which is also funny because it means Nintendo shows games warts and all. None of this "Captured on PC"

Now Playing: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Yoshi & the Mysterious Book

Now Streaming: Super Mario Odyssey Bingo, Spyro 2 Reignited

It would make sense, though: the decision might be someone else's, but the bad PR would inevitably be Nintendo's problem.
