I am SO thankful for Nintendo Today, going on X today just left me shook with all of the real world horrors happening. I just want nice Nintendo News without all that. The app notified me of a Nintendo Direct and I am buzzing.

We need this app for unspoiled Nintendo news, no leakers, no real world stuff, no haters, just Nintendo everyday.

So a new feature that I found in Nintendo Today and I found is even better on tablets.

Go to the bottom and click browsing history. For articles that include a series like Metroid stories you can click the next arrow and it will continue the series. This lets you have a digital art book or nice continual article of fun Nintendo lore and information.

The breath of the wild region series is also super cool done in a Hyrule themed newspaper and you can just read through the different articles.

Point is folks, it’s not a social media app, but it is a collection of fun Nintendo nuggets of cool stuff, art, concerts, tips on games and lore mixed with a calendar to track what is going on in the world of Nintendo.

Another tip, on the calendar click the drop down for “other ongoing events” to see what event is happening in Animal Crossing or mass outbreaks and raids in Pokémon. Also it has events for F-Zero 99, Tetris, and Mario Run.

Version 2.0.0 is out now, a Kirby theme has been added. Just in time for the 6 month anniversary at the end of this month.

I really like the 'Nintendo 365' section they've added.
It shows off all the games that were released on that particular day with videos, I just think that's really neat.

Like today for example, it's Metroid Samus Returns from 2017 and F-Zero 99 from 2023!

@Nintoz, yeah, I noticed this on the day of the Mario anniversary. I was going to say something about it myself before too much more time passed 🤣!

There's a new 4 minute video called "Close To You" on the Nintendo Today app today. Nothing related to Nintendo's franchises, no new game announcement, or anything. It's a cute short but... I'm confused. 🤣

Best guess is pikmin related but not sure.

@FishyS, a Pikmin prequel game set before the first one where humans are still around would be interesting, especially since there are plenty of hints about extinct human life in the 4 Pikmin games.

@FishyS It is 100% Pikmin related, the melody in the beginning is a variation of the Pikmin main theme, and the melody at the end (around 3:13) is this song the Pikmin are singing in Pikmin 4:

Unless this is Pikmin 4 switch 2 edition, it feels a bit too early for a new Pikmin game… maybe a spinoff à la Hey Pikmin.

Personally I feel like this is just a random short film

Currently playing:
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (3DS)
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Switch)
Metroid Zero Mission (GBA)

Maybe a Pikmin tv show or YouTube series?

@SplatRay001 Yeah I think that's what it could be. It's definitely Pikmin related, but I'd be surprised if it was a game.

I just noticed that the original video was taken down and was reuploaded with Pikmin added in.

The mystery thickens.
