The title shows it. I’m thinking about getting Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on the Nintendo Switch, but i already have it on the Wii U. Is it worth it to buy it on Switch, too? I know they have a couple Oddysey levels and a DLC, plus VR Labo compatibility. But I’m not sure...
Edit: I have decided not to get it on Switch, thanks for your help everyone.
@minecraftemery
Why not ?
They are not exactly 100% same games.
I have double dipped some same games with some few differences on it.
Go ahead to pick Switch version if you the cheapest price option.
@minecraftemery : The Odyssey levels are a nice addition, but there are only four of them.
The DLC is also a waste of money, being comprised of pre-existing levels (with new objectives), with only a handful of new maps thrown in (and really should have been part of the base game). The VR mode was also an afterthought, only allowing a select few levels to be experienced in such a fashion, and was likely a testing ground for the developers that was later implemented as a bonus feature, and should absolutely not be a deciding factor in buying the game.
I would only recommend double-dipping if you really enjoyed it on Wii U and want to play it again on Switch, but it's not worth double-dipping for the new content alone.
@Anti-Matter I “double-dipped” with Super Mario 3D World, but that was because it is my second favorite video game. Anyways, I have decided not get it.

@NinChocolate I really, really, wish I had a 3DS. If so i would go crazy and buy all of the Nintendo games, including ones that i have on WiiU and Switch.

I'd forgotten, or never noticed in the first place, that there's any VR implementation in the Switch version. Looks like I'ma have to triple dip on it now...
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Go for it. I triple dipped. 3ds purchase was on sale clearance at Argos. Switch version has dlc and is fantastic value. I got it day one with all my gold coins.
I got the Argos deal on 3DS too! That was a good run, that Argos stock clearance. Think the only thing left now there is Layton’s Mystery Journey, for about a tenner.
Anyway, Captain Toad in 3D has to be the best version, surely.
