@Tasuki Ah yeah Bowser's Fury is well worth checking out as well. It's a nice blend of 3D World and Odyssey in terms of its gameplay, even though it is a bit short. I do like 3D Land as well, I even went ahead and replayed it a few years ago.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@MarioLover92 3D world has been on my backlog for awhile now. Sadly I can't play 3D Land anymore since my 3DS was stolen a few years ago and they don't sell 3DS anymore. As I said I did play a bit of 3D World on Wii U but borrowed it from a friend so didn't get that far into it.

I've never gotten a chance to play 3D Land. I reallly want that one to be ported to Switch or the next console.
3D World is my personal favorite 3D Mario though, hope you have fun!
@MarioLover92 Thanks. I am not to worried about it now. Don't really want to get a used one as that's not a new one and it's not mine originally if that makes sense. I think Nintendo was stupid for stopping it but this is Nintendo.
@FishyS Hopefully they will on the next console, I can't see them doing it for the Switch as that has 3D World, and it's near the end of its life span. I am hoping they port a Link Between Worlds to Switch or the next console as I was never able to finish that game.

I decided to treat myself to those Switch game vouchers you can buy on the eShop? Bought Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Bros Wonder.
TotK? Love it, not quite as obsessed as I was with BotW when it came out. But it's fun, I can get lost for hours even though the areas are familiar.
...I'm having issues with Mario Bros Wonder though. It's not enjoyable. Everything is clearly well designed but it also feels off?
It's odd. I'm checking the time and only ten minutes will have passed (I was expecting at least half an hour). I'm hoping it gets better
@Kimyonaakuma I mean... different people like different games, but the majority of people seem to really like Mario Wonder, with the main complaint being that it is a little easy to 99% finish. For me, it's a solid 9.5/10 game. Do you normally like 2D Mario? As with most Mario games, the first few levels are basically 'reminder how to play Mario' levels so things get a bit more varied and have at least some challenge after you get past those levels.
@FishyS I grew up with 2D Mario! Even Super Mario Bros U was something I enjoyed...and I wouldn't even consider it to be "good". Probably the worst in the series due to being bland.
I'm enjoying how you have a choice of levels, but I don't feel the need or excitement to try most of them? The one I have played didn't leave much of an impression.
I'll see how it goes, I bought it digitally so I'll need my money's worth haha
@Kimyonaakuma The optional levels are often the slightly harder and more interesting ones. Compared to most Mario games, I feel like you're not getting the most benefit unless you near-100% Wonder. Personally I quite liked New Super Mario Bros U (I replayed it last year) but think Wonder is strictly better, although it could really use similar DLC to what U got.
In terms of levels leaving an impression? I agree with you there. Almost every level in Wonder I really enjoyed 100%-ing while I played it but apart from a few they didn't leave much impression afterwards. Although, honestly, after playing infinite Mario Maker levels it's hard for any given level to leave a huge impression.
Anyways, hope you get into it more and enjoy! It sucks when you play a really hyped game and then don't like it as much as you feel you 'should'. Honestly I felt that way with BotW - I could acknowledge it as well designed but never really got pulled into it or super enjoyed it. If nothing else, you'll know what all the talk for Wonder was about and understand some cultural references.
Contra (Arcade) (Switch from the Contra Anniversary Collection). Managing to get about halfway through this so far - Stage 4 boss - but it's seriously kicking my arse! Can't even credit-feed this one as it only give 3 continues before Game Over. I'll have to resort to the Konami code if I'm still struggling, although I'm not sure it actually works on the Arcade version.
Riders Republic (Xbox Series X) - Billed as a kind of Forza Horizon but with Xtreme Sports. Played a couple of hours so far and done a few races with Downhill Bikes and one or two with skis and winged suit. The actual races feel pretty good so far, although the open-world travelling between events not as good as Forza Horizon IMO. Tearing down narrow roads or going cross-country to the next race in Forza is really fun, but trying to do the same on a bike doesn't quite work here - Maybe it'll improve as I unlock more gear though.
@dmcc0 I tried the contra code on the Contra Anniversary Collection and discovered it's physically impossible to input the contra code on a pro controller. 😑 If you try, use a joycon d-pad. It took me like 20 minutes to realize it was failing because of pro controller input jank. 😝 It should work if you input it correctly and on the right screen though.
@FishyS Thanks, I don't use a pro controller so hopefully shouldn't be an issue. Generally use a Hori Split Pad Pro in handheld mode and either an 8bitdo SN30 Pro or Hori mini fight stick on the odd occasion I play docked.
Well, I've read the books, watched the film and binged the anime: I may as well finally tackle the final part of the Scott Pilgrim quadfecta of media 😎

I just bought Xenoblade Chronicles 3 digitally, and I’m three hours in. I’ve never really played any Xenoblade titles, but three so far is AMAZING! I’m still trying to figure out combat and can’t figure out combos or any of that fancy stuff. The story is amazing (but I am a dystopian fanboy so I’m biased) and the graphics are surprisingly good. Also playing more smash, but no new spirits for me since I hate adventure mode. And working on Mario maker levels. And animal crossing custom patterns.
BRING NINJI INTO MARIO KART WORLD RIGHT NOW.
five favorite games of all time:

2. minecraft
3. mother 2

played for nearly two hours and only just beat the first level christ almighty this s*** is BRUTAL
I'm having a really good time though, I gotta say: the spritework still looks brilliant over a decade on from it's release, the combat, while definitely finicky at points, feels fantastic when it all clicks together and Anamanaguchi absolutely KILLED IT with the OST (definitely one of my all-time favs). It can feel pretty gruelling having to replay the entire level over again if you lose all your lives during it but besides that, it's been really fun so far
Started FINAL FANTASY XVI the other day and it’s an absolute blast so far, the story’s good, the graphics are superb and the combat is some of the most engaging in any Final Fantasy game yet since it’s in real time. Only fought two bosses so far but they’ve been really fun to battle and the difficulty is just right for an action RPG like this.
Other than that I’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 again after buying Phantom Liberty, I’ve now unlocked that particular storyline so I’ll be able to play it whenever I see fit. Rest of the game’s huge though, so it may be a minute before that happens.
Started playing X-COM: Terror from the Deep recently. After looking over the manual, messing around with the game to learn some things, starting to get the hang of it. A classic turn-based strategy game from 1995, and I like it so far. A lot of trial and error as those X-COM aliens can take your guys out in one hit.
Also still playing Trolls Remix Rescue, completed the game, just fun finally being able to explore the world I loved from the movies. I did start Sonic Superstars, I want to get back into playing it.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
