@Pastellioli Yea, definitely sounds more on the major M rated scale. I've noticed it with other games too. Like, I played the Gamecube MGS remake, and was like, wow, no wonder I wasn't allowed to play M rated stuff. Then I played the Halo games with essentially the same rating, and was like, oh, this is nothing.

Oh? A Jojo event? Well, gotta correct you on one thing. The manga isn't over yet. After some ten years of part 8, the manga just moved on to part 9 in recent years. Yeah, I've heard of some of the games. The art style, especially the poses, could be considered iconic. Each part has some theme associated with it. And the stands notably have been subject to censorship, as the part 4 through part 8 stands all reference music stuff that's copyrighted or something. The openings are also awesome.
Yeah, I've heard some criticism about both. MHA had an ending that sorta let ppl down. Perhaps it was a fitting ending, but I don't know enough yet, and don't want to be spoiled. Jujutsu Kaisan was one that ppl thought was just bad iirc. As for isekai as a genre, there are absolutely some good ones, but at the same time, too many of them have themes ppl find to be unacceptable. Many isekai series could be considered to have overpowered main characters, making them a sort of power trip fantasy. Shield Hero isn't entirely an exception, as the world it's set in has slavery, which, with nowhere else to turn, the MC ends up making use of. Though, it could be argued that if there could ever possibly be a moral slave owner, or closer to master in his case, it'd be him. Considering what he went through, and the way he treats those who are considered slaves, I can sorta understand both ends. Also, hulu does have tiers? Well snap.
Significant cuts would be bad for smash in general. The N64 game was pretty good, but ultimately, it was a low budget game that just happened to make it big, hence, Melee. Am curious which Rare picks you had in mind.
Makes sense it was a coincidence on timing about when you mentioned it, vs when it was officially announced. And I didn't know Rouge was intended to be in! Team Shadow gets a decent bit of spotlight in the games.
Yeah, AoStH was the only one that was particularly lighthearted. I'd argue from the little I saw of Underground, it was actually more lighthearted than SatAM, with SatAM's Robotnik being even more intimidating and threatening. I have heard about the ending of Underground, as well as some hearsay that nobody is allowed to touch it now. In general though, Underground is the one I've not yet seen.
Xbox is apparently not going away, as they intend on a handheld, but it is notable that virtually any Xbox game can be played on PC, minus the subscription fees. They've shown minor improvement by talking about games coming, but they have such a bad rap. I liked the 360 era. I enjoyed the games there, and the subscription had me looking forward to not renting, but owning a new game each month. But Microsoft took the "greedy big business" approach after that. Online only, DRM, subscription focused, buying out devs and either failing to manage them well, or axing them entirely. I only have three Xbone games. Rare Replay, Halo 5, and because of a great deal, Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
Honestly, I try doing stuff to feel better, but I get consumed by my anxiety, whether social, or in regards to touching things, or the future, and the OCD perpetuates it to a point where I can't really get away from it for hours, even if I am doing something I enjoy.

@Mariotag I would assume Perfect Dark was rated M because of standards at the time, but the content screams Teen. Not only did they reference Pokémon, but there was supposed to be a Pikachu tail when they did the reference and some people checked the game files and found the tail there, but I have no idea if there is an actual Pikachu model for it. I read that in the scrapped scene, Conker was supposed to be petting something, and it was supposed to be a Pikachu he was petting, so I assume they were likely intending for it to make a full appearance but they likely don’t have a model for it. I’d also assume they probably got stopped by Nintendo before they could make one, but I also think them straight-up using a Pikachu model in there would have caused licensing issues too.
I do know the manga isn’t officially over, but my wording probably made it sound like I made an error. The art style is so freaking good and definitely unique, what draws my attention to it is the color choices and the black shading along with the poses. I have heard a bit of the Stand name changes a bit. JoJo fans like to poke fun at the localized Stand names because they apparently tend to sound ridiculous and uninteresting compared to the original names in an attempt to avoid copyright infringement (an infamous one I heard of was Flaccid Pancake, lol). The music is good, it’s what made me interested in it in the first place, but I had heard of JoJo way before I heard any of the opening songs.
I did read a bit about the MHA ending a bit from people who read the manga. As soon as the manga ended, I remember I was recommended a few IG posts about MHA’s ending, and a lot of the comments were negative on the ending (though there were a few defending the ending) but I won’t say anything since the reasons are spoiler-y. I really do wonder why some people thought Jujustu’s ending was bad because I actually never read about its ending compared to MHA. I’d say I probably heard more about MHA since it was long-running (10 years from 2014-2024) and built up a big fan base and a ton of popularity, also because of the anime as well. I see, so it’s also the fact some people think characters in isekai series can be overpowered? Didn’t know much about that part.
I would not be a huge fan of the next game being a reboot or having a smaller roster. It’s why I do think an Ultimate port for the “Switch 2” with all DLC would be better since they could hypothetically add a few more characters onto the already big roster and some more new content while keeping the core roster and game in tact.
I also read that they said they had also been planning or trying to put Big in there too, and they had a scrapped cameo scene for the first film that was supposed to be done with a skeleton of him, but they cut it because they thought it was too dark of a cameo. They talked about him and Rouge a little after Sonic 3 released, and it is interesting that they had been planning Rouge for a few movies but never were able to implement her in the films successfully. I am excited to see what characters they have planned for the next movies however, and there is a chance those two can appear in a future film. I would expect Rouge to appear first before Big however.
Hm, Underground was definitely darker than AoStH, but if can’t say if SatAm was darker than Underground since I never saw SatAM, but I definitely can believe that SatAM was darker. Underground had small singing segments since Sonic, Sonia and Manic had special medallions that turned into instruments they could use as weapons as well as play music, and the show kind of had this rock and roll motif or feel with their instruments. Underground was a bit dark, but it still had some kind of lighthearted moments. Some of those came from two of Robotnik’s henchmen named Sleet and Dingo, but I think the latter especially was the more comedic but bumbling one. I remember that Sonic and his siblings were adopted by different people in Mobius, and later on all their adoptive parents and families were captured and turned into robots. even though I watched a lot of Underground, I can’t even recall most of the episodes or details besides this one episode where the main trio find an abandoned hedgehog baby that they take care of and Manic and the hedgehog baby have a good friendship, but the baby is actually a Badnik Robotnik made to spy on the three. and I didn’t even remember Knuckles was in the show. I thought Underground was good when I initially watched it so long ago, but I easily believe what everyone says about it not being a good show. The animation was noticeably worse and off-model compared to AoStH and some bits I saw of SatAM, and the show actually wasn’t super good with the writing. They had intended to complete the story by releasing a comic epilogue published by Archie, but it was cancelled and the show never got a proper ending, and with Archie no longer publishing Sonic comics and the IDW comics following a different story and characters, they are for sure never giving Underground a continuation of some sort.
I actually have a feeling I may have seen at least one episode of SatAM since I recall watching the intro on the WiiU (which had Netflix), but it’s been so long I can’t actually remember if I did. I know at one point Netflix had Underground and AoStH as part of its catalogue, but I don’t know if they ever aired SatAM, but it’s possible they did and I saw a small bit of it. I don’t actually know where I could watch SatAM if I do at one point.
I wonder how that Xbox handheld will turn out when the time comes for it to release and how it will sell, because every company seems to now be wanting to copy the Switch’s formula and make their own handhelds since they saw how popular the Switch is and how well it did. I wouldn’t mind a handheld, but I don’t know how much I’d play an Xbox handheld if I bought one. I just hope it will sell well. I think Xbox could do way better with all of those small issues they have. I would really want them to just focus on the studios and talents they have right now and building them up instead of buying studios one by one, but I think it’ll be a while till they do another big studio purchase after the intense scrutiny they had when they were purchasing Activision. A report came out recently that said that they had the decision to either buy more studios or wind down the Xbox business back in 2021, and they bought more studios to keep the business alive, but I feel like there could have been a better route or decision they could have chose instead of buying multiple studios and not doing spectacularly with managing them. The constant price hikes with the subscription services kinda bugs me a bit but it makes me remember how better it kind of is to purchase games one time instead of paying monthly to keep access to the games you wanna. I do want to purchase more Xbox games though since my library mostly consists of free to play games and Rare games. I heard Ori was good, but I haven’t played it.

Last Christmas one of my cousins and her gf showed me a game I had never heard about before; they were playing a PS2/PSP game named Gitaroo Man on their laptop. They let me play and I was instantly hooked, it’s like the funniest, most intense rhythm game ever.
It’s apparently my cousins first time seriously playing any video game at all, and she choose that. Wow.
Aw I wish I had learned about it while the Vita store was still running so I could’ve purchased the PSP version on it (assuming it was available there at all).
Welp. All I can do now is try and manifest a switch port somehow. Because I don’t really feel like finding and installing a PS2 emulator on my MacBook.
It's really been awhile, ended up taking an unannounced break mostly due to other things going on in my life, and enjoying some games on my PC and Switch. Been mostly playing the Jagged Alliance games, Sonic X Shadow Generations, and tried out a new game called Faaast Penguin, which ended up being a lot of fun. Don't worry, nothing bad happened at all.
Also, Nintendo had to drop the Switch 2 announcement during breakfast. I'm just sitting there eating breakfast, and Switch 2 out of nowhere. I want to see more, though seeing the higher prices of Xbox and PlayStation does have me concerned about price. I could save up for one, but would wait on getting it. Rather not get a console near launch, just so things go smoothly.
@Sunsy I know for sure speedrunners have to play through the game multiple times to get it all memorized and to prepare themselves for the actual speedrun. I think the fact that speedrunners play through games so many times to perfect their performance and skill for something that can sometimes be stressful is impressive and commendable, given I only play a specific game once and only replay it if I like the game a ton. The only game I can think of that I kinda have memorized and played more than once is Conker’s Bad Fur Day (two times, but technically three if the remake counts) but I think that even though I kind of memorized some parts of the game, I still think I’d do poorly on a speedrun, plus there are parts of the game that are so hard to play and require a lot of trial and error. I think the quickest speedrun I saw on a leaderboard for that was at around an hour, but I’m unsure of how people got that time fast when playing the game. I’d have to assume it could be glitches, given some speedruns utilize glitches and bugs in a game to speed through portions of it, plus I think the hardware can also play a factor in speedrunning time, since some consoles are slower than others and faster loading times reduce the time spent on a game. Speedrunning is just so impressive and seems like a fun hobby.
I can’t recall seeing the bad reception to the Boom games at the time of release since it was a decade ago. However, I am glad the tie-in show was good. It had so much great comedy and jokes, and I see quite a lot of clips of the show on Instagram pop up and some people quoting it in comment sections. Too bad the show won’t come back for another season though…
I am a big fan of fantasy, but I also do think sci-fi is cool, I especially liked it in the Perfect Dark games, paired with the spy theme they had to go with the sci-fi setting, since most of the time the spy games and media I see aren’t set in a futuristic time period or have any sci-fi elements. I think I have seen some of that Mario Party ad with Mario and the police. I have seen the Japanese Diddy Kong Racing ad in full in a couple of videos, this is a short version of it here:
It’s a cute ad and I think that seeing the characters officially animated in 2D is cool to see, given I’ve only seen the characters in 3D form only. The Japanese N64 ads seem very different from how most American N64 ads looked and felt. I think most American N64 ads focused on being revolutionary (one that comes to my mind is this one Mario 64 ad that showed gameplay from the game and it sounded like the guy talking over the gameplay was delivering a serious speech) and depending on the ad, were animated more in 3D or used live-action. The Japan ads seemed to be focused more on fun and sometimes cuteness and had 2D animation instead. Some of the American N64 ads I did see online were sometimes crazy though. I remember a few months ago, I was watching a compilation of various American N64 ads and I recall seeing an ad for this game (unfortunately I can’t recall the name) but it had a talking teddy bear that I think intentionally resembled the Snuggle fabric softener mascot and it’s a calm ad until the room that the bear is in gets destroyed by military tanks if I recall. I saw an ad they had for Conker’s Bad Fur Day but I found that ad was more weird than crazy with what it implied.
I absolutely loved Sonic 3, I’d say it’s the best in the trilogy and I’m excited to see what they do next with it! I am wondering what game they are planning on taking inspiration from for the 4th movie, there are two that come to my mind already. I’m in a big Sonic mood now haha. Eating while watching a movie is fun, but I tend to eat a lot of my food before watching something, and then I’ll watch a bit of it before stopping, but I’d want to maybe do that again sometime at home if my family wants to, I just don’t know what movie though. Usually we eat pizza, Chinese food or Mexican food while watching something. I kind of had that feeling with spoilers too recently! I saw Sonic 3 a few days after it released in theaters, but I saw some PSAs on Reddit and on NL that people were already posting spoilers and leaking parts of the movie 1-2 days prior to the film releasing in theaters, mainly the post-credit scene. I think it was also because some people saw early screenings of it and if I remember, they had an event where I think some critics and reviewers saw the film early, but critics are super professional and wouldn’t spoil a movie. Avoiding spoilers was fairly easy for me leading up to the day I was going to see it, but a day prior to seeing Sonic 3, Instagram made the unfortunate choice to recommend me a reel of the post-credit scene that someone spoiled and I was so disappointed that it showed up but I think it was my fault I chose to scroll on Instagram, given social media is full of spoiler videos and photos of newly released films.
Disney Infinity was really fun, it’s a shame the toys-to-life concept died off after the eighth-generation of game console era ended. They had planned a fourth game, 4.0., but cancelled it but revealed some scrapped characters and concept art for it. I didn’t hear until now Disney Infinity had a Wii port! That’s super cool. I’d love to have some plushies again, I used to have some Mario, Sonic and Pokémon plushes, but I don’t have them anymore. Plushes are so nice though and I’d like to have at least three or two of them.
It’s strange the pages yellowed given they weren’t in light and were in darker areas. The brand of sketchbooks I use are a Japanese brand called Maruman. They are good quality for dry media a markers (though alcohol markers bleed a bit) and have a nice tooth texture. I usually got them on Amazon (but importing makes them a bit expensive) but some dollar stores called Daiso have the sketchbooks for cheaper. The old Maruman sketchbooks were the ones that yellowed the most, but some other ones I got from different stores (such as Five Below) also had some pretty bad yellowing on a few pages. Luckily the yellowing was with my old art, my new artwork is in good condition
They do, going through the levels as quickly as possible requires a lot of replaying and finding routes that make it quick, even using game glitches to make it passed certain parts.
I think Sega is done with Sonic Boom, hence why there's no new season. They did make Sonic Prime, which I surprisingly haven't watched much of, despite having Netflix. I did like the bit of the show I did see, I think I watched the first couple of episodes.
Yeah, I remember when the game was new, I was a bit on a sci-fi kick back then. I'd say I would like some fantasy stuff now. Trolls and Sofia the First comes to mind. One day I'll hook up my N64 and play through Perfect Dark, I picked it up albeit well after the N64's heyday. I remember finding a retro game store over a decade ago, and took advantage by buying a few N64 games (I also got Quake II) and new N64 controllers.
Cool, never seen this ad while browsing the web before, they look good in 2D style. Yeah, the one thing that stuck out from Diddy Kong Racing's commercial was a speedometer. This one had a bigger focus on its cast of characters. I remember that commercial, I think it was for a game called Battle Tanx, or was it Battle Tanks? I do remember that commercial, even though I never played the game.
(Actual Sonic 3 spoilers)From the way the bonus scene was, I would guess maybe Sonic CD, given that's the Sonic game with both Metal and Amy in it. That's always a hard thing to do, whenever I get popcorn, I ususally find myself eating it before the movie. I try to not eat my snack before the movie starts. Sometimes at the theater, I get nachos, which is just chips and cheese dip. At home, sometimes it's dinner. Sometimes, I'll eat something before watching anything. I think pizza would be great with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Amusing part about avoiding Sonic spoilers, I didn't get any on my Instagram feed. I mostly follow the official Sonic accounts, so they won't go spoiling the scenes from the movie. When I check discovery feed, I saw some Sonic movie "fanmade" pictures of Amy, Silver, and other characters, but those were circulating the net for years at this point, and were not from the movie itself.
I would have loved to see what Infinity 4.0 would have offered. I just loved building levels in the toybox and exploring around. It was like I was building my own game. It did have Wii port that was mostly the same for most of the part, the only difference is the Toybox was divided into six separate toy boxes. For example, one was dedicated for driving, another to building, and so on. Even with the limitations, I ended up making my own worlds. Plushies are great, I think I have too many of them of various characters.
Interesting, never heard of those brands. I usually go to a Michaels art store nearby and get Strathmore pads since that's what I see whenever I need to shop for art supplies.
@Sunsy Yeah, pretty much. Honestly, I kinda miss those days. There was more hype. Big games weren't things you had to put on the backburner after getting them because they were too big. Or because you had too many... Part of it may also have been because I was younger, and saw friends more often. (As well as people in general)
Yeah, even if the rumors ended up as not true, it just added a lot of mystery to the world of gaming back then, and sparked discussion. Nowadays, you can fact check anything.
@Sunsy Glad you had a great Christmas! And some productivity in the hobby department. Linux is fun to use and open source but is more technical for most people. Overall I prefer Windows out of familiarity even if DLLs can be a pain. I've used Linux for work before.
Indeed, I still remember some of the stuff I had to figure out with Linux, I even set up my mother's PC at one point as a dual boot. She had bad luck with viruses, so I gave her Linux for using the net, and kept Windows installed for when she needed it for work. Worked wonders. Though nowadays I stick to Windows mostly because of gaming.
@Sunsy Thanks! I'm glad you had a good Christmas. I enjoyed my Christmas too... I got Sonic X Shadow Generations as well! Though I started with Mario vs. Donkey Kong (another game I got for Christmas), but I'll definitely get to the Sonic game. Also got some Disney movies on blu-ray, and a really nice snow globe train decoration.
That's great you did something nice for the Christmas season by getting Dunkin' Donuts. I really should get back into F-Zero 99... thank you for the reminder. I don't wanna miss out on that special Grand Prix event. Haven't been playing online multiplayer games too often lately.

I'm not super into scary stuff either, especially anything that's realistic. Similarly, my mom used to watch horror movies, but she doesn't nowadays. I think I played House of the Dead at an arcade once or twice, but that was a long time ago. Nice, one Halloween decoration we have is a stack of jack-o-lanterns that you could inflate. It has lights that glow different colors.
Yeah... there's a sort of manual built into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's main menu (and the controls inside MK8D's case), and Mario's moveset guide in Super Mario Odyssey, but I think that's it in terms of Switch games. About the power-ups in Trolls Remix Rescue. Does the game not explain what they do? That's what it seems like to me.
Nice, that's cool. That reminds me, I remember listening to other game music like the Smash Ultimate Big Blue remix while playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is such a good version of that theme. I remember listening to other F-Zero music while playing MK8D, as well.
Nice, it does sound like that actually. I think one YouTuber I'm subscribed to, GameCube Galaxy, mentioned that in one of his videos too. It's been a long time since I tried out Sonic and the Secret Rings, I remember not liking it too much because of how difficult the controls were. I do like Sonic Colors though, I'd say that's the best Sonic game on the Wii.

That reminds me, the F-Zero event is ending soon, I should play the event a bit more. Multiplayer-wise, I was playing Modern Combat Blackout and F-Zero 99 a lot during the Christmas season. I like Modern Combat occaisionally to scratch that Call of Duty itch (unpopular opinion, I like it more than Call of Duty).
Wow, you remembered. I thought I forgot to mention it. Mom and I liked Elf, my mom kind of regrets missing out on the movie. It did make for a nice Christmas Eve movie time with her. That night it was Frosty the Snowman, Elf, and Trolls Holiday in Harmony.
Like me, I just was never into scary, so it's usually character stuff for Halloween. I think I played one of the arcade House of the Dead games until completion. I had an arcade that did a pay $6, all the arcade games you can play. They did it every Sunday. I usually paint a pumpkin and I have a Trolls kit for decorating it. It looks nothing like a jack-o-lantern, lol.
I don't think I ever checked out that feature in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I never bothered with it since it was pretty much the same as Wii U, minus the double items obviously. Surprisingly it doesn't. I can collect a music note, and it doesn't seem to do anything I notice with gameplay. The only power-up I can figure out is the magnet, which gathers gems.
Cool, I was actually using the Nintendo Music app earlier just to listen to Mario Kart music while doing chores.
Never heard of that YouTuber. Between the two storybook games, I did like Sonic and the Black Knight more. Mostly because of the plot twist and better controls, even though I did adapt to Secret Rings endless runner style of controls. Colors was a great game.
So, the Nintendo Switch 2 got announced... alongside a new Mario Kart game! I'm liking how they both look. Would love to learn more about them once the Switch 2 Direct arrives. I'm a bit surprised that Nintendo is going the PlayStation route by calling their next console the Switch 2, but I think it is a good move on their part, especially considering how the Wii U's marketing was handled.
@Pastellioli I think I remember those music levels in Super Mario Maker. I do know there's a lot of good levels that people have made, but also a lot of not-so-good ones too. To be honest, it's basically why I haven't been playing the Mario Maker games too much lately. One of the levels I played started out with a bunch of enemies falling down on Mario. Went ahead and skipped that one right away, lol. At least we've got Super Mario Maker 2, we can still play that online.
I did play quite a lot of Splatoon 3, that was my most played Splatoon game. I played in most of the Splatfests and finished the story mode and DLC. I played some of Splatoon 2's Splatfests before S3 came out, as well. I got burnt out on S3 lately... so I'm all ready for Splatoon 4, assuming I'll have the Switch 2 by then of course.
That's cool, I finished World of Light a long while back, and I did get some spirits outside of that too. Yeah, if one player has a bad connection, it affects everyone playing from what I've played. At least it doesn't happen in Mario Kart... that's just one reason why I like playing that over Smash online. Plus I'm better at racing games anyway, lol.
Just saw one of the Rare Revealed videos, the one I saw was called "A Rare Look at Dream" where the folks at Rare talk about how they were gonna make an RPG called Dream, and then the whole project got reworked into what we know as Banjo-Kazooie. I liked seeing all the footage especially. Thank you for telling me about those videos.
@Sunsy Wishing you a Happy New Year as well, and glad to hear you're doing OK. If I had to guess the Switch 2's price, I would think it would be about $400? Hopefully, it won't be more than that. I can't imagine it would be more than that since I would imagine the Switch 2's hardware being on par with that of the PS4. That sounds like a good plan. I might wait a fair while before I get one too. The new Mario Kart game looks pretty good, would love to learn more about it.
I'm liking Sonic X Shadow Generations. Both the Sonic and Shadow halves of it, been switching between the two as I play. Shadow Generations is super cool as well, haha. I keep forgetting that Chaos Control is a new mechanic that was added, so I've had a tendency to just play it like any other Sonic boost game, lol. Glad to hear you're loving it.
The Disney movies I got were 101 Dalmatians, Encanto, Frozen II, Lady and the Tramp, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio, and Snow White. That last one I mentioned was a special print that was made for Disney's 100th anniversary as well. I also got The Great Mouse Detective (alongside the first Trolls movie!) when I was shopping at FYE. Going off on a tangent, I also got my mom Clueless as a Christmas gift, she likes that movie.
Oh thanks for telling me, I did play in F-Zero 99's Frozen World Tour earlier this month. Not sure if I'll play it again since I'm kind of busy with Sonic Generations and some real life stuff, but I'll see. That's cool you're liking those two games. Recently, I've finished Mega Man Battle Network 2. Maybe I'll move on to MMBN3 once I wrap up Generations. Going off on another tangent, I do like the Battle Network games quite a lot, actually. That's pretty strange. You'd think the game would let you know what the music note does, alongside the other power-ups. That's cool, I've used the Nintendo Music app for multiple occasions myself. I like putting on Animal Crossing music when I do housework for example.
Gotcha, GameCube Galaxy does video reviews of GameCube games, I'd say he's worth checking out. I've never played Sonic and the Black Knight, I've heard from some folks saying it is quite a bit better. Colors is great for sure, next to Generations, it's my favorite "boost era" Sonic game.

Honestly, yeah. The rumors added life to games and TV series in a way that just doesn't happen so much today. Interestingly though, this topic reminds me of the popular indie game Tunic. Pretty much the epitome of a game where you absolutely must go in blind to get the true experience. Maybe asking help or looking something up would be appropriate for postgame though, or perhaps even endgame. Although I can appreciate the physical edition as a collector's item, ironically, by the very nature of the game, it's very much the only one where I consider digital to be more favorable for every relevant reason, barring DRM.
Sonic 4 prob will feature Sonic CD, or perhaps a somewhat trimmed down version of Sonic Heroes. Which btw, regarding spoilers, I noticed the spoiler tag does not spoiler a comment if you view it in your email notification.
Haven't played enough F-Zero 99 lately. And just started Sonic X Shadow Generations yesterday.

Ah. Bizarre wording makes sense. Never heard of "Flaccid Pancake" before. I was a newcomer starting after part 4 was already aired. I know some of the stand names were lightly edited, but idk about others. Also, something I appreciate is the way that some of the antagonists are treated, particularly when one takes a hostage in a particularly evil fashion. There are two big beatdowns I've seen in the anime so far, and I hope you enjoy them! One of them apparently lasted 7 whole pages, or in the anime, 30 seconds straight.
Yeah, I was spoiled on a couple aspects of the ending for MHA myself. I think people saw it as a massive letdown given what was said. Will watch Jujutsu Kaisan sometime. As for Isekai, yeah. With some notable exceptions that simply wouldn't fit, there are people who think of those series as a creator's personal fantasy with a self insert. Harems tend to be a thing, as well as things that would be unthinkable in modern society. But I enjoy the genre, even some of the trash.
Tbh, I'm worried the same licensing issues would prevent a Smash Ultimate DX. I'm hoping for the best though! Perhaps the topic of smash can be retired for now?
Yeah, I vaguely remember finding out about that intended Big cameo somewhere. And yeah. They'll want Team Shadow in before too much longer. But I'm hoping they step up the character introductions too. One or two per movie will make it take ages to reach some of the cast that's well liked, but not in so many games. (Ahem, Blaze, possible Freedom Fighters cameos, etc.)
For Underground, I mostly just saw the first couple episodes, as well as the first prequel episode you mentioned. I do feel SatAM is a fair bit darker than what I saw of Underground. One major difference I can note, or actually two, is, while Underground had a society under Robotnik, SatAM did not. Anyone who survived Robotnik, and was neither trapped in some kind of prison, nor roboticized, was by and large living in highly secret bases, trying their hardest not to be discovered, lest they become among his robotic servants. And unlike Underground, being roboticized was considered a death sentence. There was no music to bring back someone's free will for the most part. Personally, I'm interested in Underground too. I saw somewhere it was a French production, and that the story was "off limits".
Worth mentioning, both as part of this topic, and your follow up, the official youtube channel for Wildbrain actually has most of the episodes uploaded, and considering Wildbrain is apparently what DIC became, it may actually be considered an official upload. Though that doesn't stop yt from taking videos down. You should find SatAM there.
Huh. Never knew Microsoft was presented with that choice. Yeah though, they need to manage things better! I'm hoping they do actually reclaim some positive relevance next gen, but it'd likely take a while, and a lot of effort. Also, saw something about a "This is an Xbox" speech. Basically, anything can be one. I hate subscription services for both how many there are, as well as the constant charges. If I wanna watch anime officially, I have to get a minimum of like, 5 subscription services, many of which don't work locally, and a few of which have tiers. Gaming is becoming alarmingly similar. At the same time though, there is some convenience to being able to watch a bunch of stuff without being required to buy each set on disc. For Aniplex anime in particular, this is a godsend, as they seemed to be trying to adopt Japan's practice of giving full price to sets with like, 6 episodes each. Just seeing the prices on Sword Art Online disc sets when they were still fresh was....a nightmare tbh.
Yeah, I was rather fatigued when I typed that last response. It's hard keeping up with everything, and I appreciate your consideration. Even fatigued though, I'd rather interact and hang out than do nothing.
Yeah.. The worries are definitely an issue. But I think, perhaps the bigger issues are my anxiety combinations, my limitations, lack of skills learned, as well as the current world I would have to find a way to use them in....and..the disability coverage I get, and would lose if I ever accomplished anything, being worth far more than any job I could ever get at my entry level. Like, it gives free insurance that saves me literally thousands per month, if not more often.

Wii U sales might be the worst, but their games now are pretty rare to find from game collector pov.
I still try to collect Wii U games from my country Indonesia, from the seller who provide very cheap unpopular Wii U games to collect since the 1st party Wii U like Paper Mario Color Splash, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Wii Sports Resort, etc are nowhere to be founded.

@Sunsy The key element of succeeding In speedruns is memorizing everything and replaying the game a ton of times to get it right, and I think it’s cool speedrunners have a lot of time to do that and perfect their gaming skills.
I am not surprised they’d want to move on from the Boom games (given it was disliked a ton besides Fire & Ice and the TV show) but I think they’ll a writer on the show was asked about a third season and he said they were completely done with the show, but I think that answer came after clips from the show blew up online and became popular. Unlike Boom I actually never watched Sonic Prime, but I heard it was good, but I don’t have Netflix. The only Sonic shows I’ve watched was Sonic Boom, Sonic Underground, and AoStH, as well as the first episode of Sonic X. Boom was perfect when it came to its writing and comedy, and it is nice people still quote and remember the show despite it only lasting for two seasons and being from a decade ago.
I like fantasy the most compared to sci-fi, but I think I also like fantasy a lot more because they sometimes include animal characters and I like animals a lot. One that comes to my mind in terms of fantasy media that I like is Banjo-Kazooie. It kind of has fairy tale like vibes to it, plus the opening scene with Gruntilda talking to the pot about who is the most prettiest in the land and getting upset that it’s not her reminded me a lot of Snow White with the Evil Queen and the mirror, and the fictional creatures and animal characters really make the game wondrous and fantastical. I don’t mind sci-fi, but there’s something with fantasy that makes me like it way more. Maybe because it’s not really supposed to be set in an ordinary world compared to how sci-fi has a lot of elements common in real-life. That retro store sounds nice, I would like to have a retro store I could go to given I like older games and media a lot, but they aren’t super common and sometimes an extremely expensive hobby to get into, at least with game collecting. I haven’t gone to see if any GameStop stores have retro stuff in their stores. They did sometimes have older refurbished consoles for sale (which were behind the person working at the cash register) but it was consoles released from 2013-2014, if I recall there was a WiiU and PS4 there. Your game purchases sound good! I would absolutely love to own original N64 stuff and games. Although I am a fan of the N64, I actually don’t own the console and only have the games via ports on modern consoles.
The ad is so cutesy and I love how they made the characters look in 2D. It does show a big difference between Japanese and American game ads sometimes. Japanese ads are very notable for often being lighthearted but at times comedic and strange (in a good and hilarious way). Thanks for telling me the name. I remember it was a tank game, but that ad stuck out to me the most when I was watching that N64 commercials video.
im stuck between CD and Heroes as the game 4 will semi-adapt. I just wonder if they’ll try implementing the time-traveling concept if they did follow some of CD’s story, but I don’t know how well it would fit in the film if that is what they are going to take inspiration from, but I expect they won’t include some details and ideas from the game or be a direct adaptation of the story.Movie theater popcorn always tastes better than the popcorn I get from the store and eat at home lol, there is something with theater food that always tastes good. The flavor I like the most is butter and salt, and it reminds me of how Harkins has a stand of various flavoring powders you put into your popcorn for free, but they started to add fees for using the flavoring powders. Usually my popcorn will be halfway done before the film starts while I’m watching previews, ads, and small film trivia games they put in-between ads, but I’m also fine not eating anything during the movie. I don’t really eat food when I watch movies at home besides a few times when me and my family eats fast food, but it’s still very nice to experience. Yeah, I often see fanmade renders and artworks of other Sonic characters with movie-inspired designs a lot and thank goodness they aren’t spoilers. I often saw those circulating a ton before some of the Sonic films released, but usually those fanmade renders I saw on fake film trailer video thumbnails on YouTube or via these ads they place below a video I’m watching. I saw a couple of those for Sonic 3 about two years before it actually released and before anyone knew what the plot was going to be about.
Infinity’s focus on creativity and going crazy with what you make was awesome. I did like some of the worlds that were already pre-made in Disney Infinity. One aspect I remember the most from 2.0 and 3.0 was the INteriors, where you could make this gigantic apartment-like house with multiple rooms and decorating the insides with furniture, and I also remember the Hall of Heroes area that had statues of the characters you played as and owned and showcased the Power Discs. I had the most fun working on the INteriors and it’s making me miss Disney Infinity so much now. I only had the WiiU ports of the three games. Whenever I played it, I always focused on the Toybox aspect rather than the Playsets since just building stuff was super fun. I remember having this gigantic world in 3.0 that was a mishmash of a lot of different areas and worlds and it was so fun to pay in.
They are nice sketchbooks, but I’ve also used Artist Loft and Strathmore sketchbooks from Michaels too! I used to have a toned tan Strathmore sketchbook for graphite and colored pencils but I donated it since I didn’t have any use for it, while Artist Loft’s sketchbooks held up well against some of my wet art supplies like markers. Thinking about those two brands makes me miss Michaels a bit, I can just remember the aisles and all the cool items they had around the place, the one I remember the most was this section where they had alcohol markers, pencils, and pens, though the markers were all in a casing that couldn’t be opened without assistance, likely because some people tend to swatch markers a lot and sometimes damage them, and some of the markers in that casing were very expensive. It was really frustrating to sometimes go to the store and buy something from an open display only for the item to be damaged. I remember I got a blue marker once and when I was going to use it the pen had a really damaged tip.
@MarioVillager92 The music levels I played were often well done. In fact, a lot of Mario Maker levels I played were really fun and good quality, and I wish I could have made a fun level too, but I’m not the greatest when it comes to making stuff in creative games, but I’m not really mad about it. Yeah, it is nice they have Mario Maker 2 and it being an improvement from the original and it has online, but I actually don’t have it. It’s a shame they didn’t have those Mystery Mushroom costumes return from what I saw, but I am maybe going to assume it could have been licensing with some of the characters represented with the costumes.
Splatoon 2 was my most played out of the first and third game, I’d play 2 more than a lot of the Switch games I had, but I’d also play Smash Ultimate quite a bit too. I had around more than 300 hours on it, bought nearly all the gear (I thought I completed it but a few unpurchased items showed up in the stores) and finished the story modes (Agent Mode and Octo Expansion, including that unfair Agent 3 battle you unlock after completing the game) and got to a high level in Salmon Run. I stuck to that game a lot since it had a ton of content on it. I am surprised I didn’t really play 3 a ton, since I was a huge fan of Splatoon and that game had so much more content and features than the previous games and the fact that the Grand Festival was bigger and better than the previous final Splatfests. I probably wasn’t into shooter games by the time the Grand Festival happened, plus I was playing a few shooters on the Xbox and realized my game shooter skills weren’t good anymore! I definitely didn’t have much fun unfortunately, but that’s what happens when you play other games a lot with different game genres. I am wondering what they’ll do for the 4th entry when the time comes for it, and if it’ll be soon since the Switch 2 is supposed to release this year.
I still don’t know how I can get to 100% in World of Light since my progress is stuck at 98% or 99% because I remember doing all the Spirit battles and rescuing all the fighters, but it was kind of fun trying to complete most of it when I was super into Smash a few years ago. Yeah, after I had a few accidental disconnects that ended matches too early and way too many internet issues, I just chose to stop playing Smash online since it ruins the experience for everyone, but I wonder if they could have dealt with player disconnects differently instead of ending the match for everyone and the disconnected player. I am hoping the next Smash game will have improved online play and having a different approach to dealing with game disconnects. It’s kind of a gamble for me to play online with internet that fluctuates back and forth from good to bad since there is a 50/50 chance I’ll stay connected or disconnect. I did have better experiences playing Mario Kart online and there the internet was stable. The same goes for Splatoon besides a few instances like with that Rainmaker match with two of my teammates and all of the enemy E-liter’s teammates disconnecting simultaneously, though Splatoon’s internet worked more than not working.
Glad you enjoyed it! The interviews and short documentaries are great watches and are short but have a good amount of information and story behind some of the games there and some footage. Some of the videos also have concept art showcases for a couple of their games, and I even remember they have some for scrapped music tracks from their games, including cancelled ones. It’s nice that they aired the documentaries online alongside some extra ones too. I probably will try to give the YouTube uploads a watch since it’ll take me forever to unlock the rest in the game.
@Mariotag It would have been cool if it did appear, but I get why Nintendo didn’t allow it, though the way the cutscene ended with the Pikachu being petted sounded adorable. There are a couple of moments that Nintendo had Rare remove, including a cutscene that started out with some characters performing a violent experimentation with unnerving music and the final game replaced it with a fourth wall break.
I remember reading that the Flaccid Pancake name came from a localization of one of the fighting games, but it’s an infamous name localization I’ve heard over the internet. I did like the antagonists I saw in season 1 (Dio and the Pillar Men) and they were really intimidating and memorable. JoJo was absolutely fantastic (from what I saw in the first season) and I’m hoping I can watch more of it soon.
I hope you like Jujutsu Kaisen when you get to it, I absolutely enjoyed season 1. Again, I don’t quite mind any anime genre, but the ones I saw the most was action, fantasy, and comedy, but I wouldn’t mind watching some isekai. I forgot to say, but I also saw a comedy isekai called Campfire Cooking In Another World With My Absurd Skill. I actually watched one episode and thought it was great, plus it’s premise of a salaryman being sent to a fantasy world to help assist in a war but becoming a cook instead and purchasing food items from modern Japan because of his special ability was interesting and funny but I didn’t finish it. There are too many anime shows I started and didn’t finish, like Bocchi the Rock! and Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun, so I should get back to those three when I get the time to do so.
With the Switch 2 being backwards compatible, I wonder if they’ll not do a DX port of Ultimate, assuming OG Ultimate will be compatible with it, but I know they’ll make a new Smash game despite that. We can retire the Smash topic now, I don’t have anything else to say actually lol.
The character ideas they had for the previous films sounded interesting but I understood why they wouldn’t work that early. I expect Team Shadow to appear soon, maybe after Sonic 4 releases, but I wonder how fast they’ll be introducing more fan-favorite characters in the films and if they’ll choose to reveal more since 3’s post-credit scene did a double character reveal instead of one..
I believe you when you say SatAM was darker than Undeground, since I am remembering Underground had more comedic and lighthearted moments with Robotnik’s henchmen (kind of like the Badnik henchmen from AoStH) and the singing sequences.
That does sound pretty dark for a Sonic cartoon and it sounds like something newer Sonic shows wouldn’t do. Underground also had captured people being roboticized too, but it only had a few instances of it, and later on a character in the show made a machine/tool that de-roboticized people that were affected by it, so there was a way to undo it. SatAM definitely isn’t all sunshine and rainbows like how Underground was in some aspects.

I am surprised they are going the multi-platform approach, shown with the “This is an Xbox” campaign where they showed other items and devices with that sentence on it. If someone went to the past and told me that is what Microsoft would be doing for their consoles, I’d not believe it, but I am surprised that is what they are doing since Xbox sales have unfortunately been at a low. However, I think that Xbox will stay, since I find that multiplatform approach is to reach bigger audiences and players on popular game platforms and they’ll likely make more money that way to make up for the low game sales on the Xbox, since I hear most game purchases are on Nintendo and PlayStation store fronts. I prefer owning something and purchasing it once, but I agree that subscription services can help save money. A random example I can think of is maybe you want to watch a series with lots of films, but buying all the films separately is expensive, but an inexpensive streaming service has all the films in one place. Streaming services can save money, but it’s annoying having to buy multiple services to watch certain shows and films since some don’t have full film/show series.
Hope this response was shorter, it can sometimes take me a while to type out responses. I’m sorry, that all seems too stressful. I sometimes am stressed out thinking about what will happen in the future and if I will succeed, but sometimes I have to believe in the good to feel less like that and ignore the bad, but it’s hard for me to do that if I’m feeling down.

Sonic 3 movie here in Indonesia didn't really get good reception as the movie schedule I saw from my local cinema XXI, currently only one cinema XXI here in my hometown still aired sonic 3 movie and it still not even 1 month.
The broadcast schedule of sonic 3 movie got axed quickly, same as Mufasa here too but Mufasa could managed to survive for 1 month today on 18 January 2025.
When the movie only survived less than 1 month in my country, it means the movie is not that good.
I have ever found one movie only survived for 6 days then got replaced by another movie due to very poor review and almost nobody want to watch. It was Harold & the Purple Crayon.
I watched that movie and it was indeed terrible and I don't want to remember that movie again.
@Anti-Matter I’m guessing Sonic 3 didn’t do too well in some countries if your theater ended its theatrical run fast, but given streaming services are really popular I am not surprised that some films end their theatrical run fast. Sonic 3 did really well in the US and was super popular last month so it’s still in US theaters, but I think it should be ending its theatrical run soon since there were reports the film is going to be added to streaming on the 21st.
I actually heard of the Harold & the Purple Crayon film and I even watched a video about it, but was the film really that bad if it actually ended its theatrical run that early? That sounds really bad. I haven’t seen it but I feel like that the film would have probably done a bit better if it was animated given its premise is about imagination and making things come to life, and I even saw the film had some 2D animation during the opening and the animation looked great! But I read that the film is supposed to be more of a sequel to the book rather than an actual adaptation of the original book.
