@Mariotag It is from what I’ve seen, but in a lot of stuff I’ve played or seen with kitsune, they lack the transformation abilities and are only shown in their fox form.

I only played one route of Three Hopes, which was with the Golden Deer. I found Three Hopes was super short, but I remember there was this one battle where your decisions will affect the story and its length. One decision will significantly shorten the game but the other will add more chapters and give you the full ending I’m not too into doing multiple playthroughs of certain games so I only did one route. The final battle was annoying though. Compared to most I don’t mind hack-and-slash games, but maybe because I played Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U and Fire Emblem Warriors and thought those were decent games.

I do get somewhat impatient drawing too. I’m only able to complete, what, maybe 1 or 2 drawings each month, mainly because of time but also because I’m the type of person who gets upset when my drawing doesn’t go as I planned to, and I am quick to give up the drawing while working on it. I do want to go back to drawing, also because I recently bought a set of bright colored Sharpies.

Oh, I see. It seems like to me that Naruto is kind of well-known for having filler in it? That stinks, I haven’t really watched any anime with filler in it, but I also believe I heard One Piece is notorious for having it, but I assume it’s also because the show has a bunch of episodes too. Honestly, I do kind of dislike when I’m watching a movie or something and the film has these random scenes in here that feel like filler and have no bearing on the plot, because I have felt that way with some movies I’ve watched before.

@Sunsy Hi there, I hope everything is going well for you. No worries for not getting to my last reply yet, I'm not upset about that at all. I've also been busy, and I've been focusing on fighting off my depression lately, I've been through a lot recently. Depression is never fun to have, especially since I'm very, very sensitive. I've been listening to some ambiance videos on YouTube, those have been helping me emotionally. There's a 1950s calm night one that has oldies playing in the background, and it's really nice. I like old-timey stuff and that helps me get a good night's sleep.

I understand why you're upset about the Switch 2. $80-90 is indeed a lot of cash for just one game... I don't think I'll be able to get too many new games because of that. I didn't know about some games being $90, though. Mario Kart World looks awesome, and I really, really want to play it... but the price tag is definitely a tough pill to swallow. And yes, the game key cards are such a silly idea. Why not just have the game stuffed inside and be done with it? I did see that the welcome tour costs some money too... honestly, that's also silly. Agreed, that should've been included in the system from the get-go, or just not have that being a thing to begin with.

I think, if Switch 2 sales start being not great, we may see some things change. And yeah, the 3DS started out at $250, which was pretty expensive for a handheld. The 3DS did not sell too well when it first came out, then it got a price drop and its hardware sales were much better. Especially with Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 coming out that holiday season. Similarly, the PS3 was $600 when it first came out, it didn't sell nearly as well as the Wii and 360, then it got a price drop and redesign and it did quite a bit better. I'll probably hold off on getting the Switch 2 for the time being and see how things play out, probably the best course of action for me.

@Sunsy Nice! I wanna get TMS switch tbh. And yeah. We need a repeat of 3ds. Unlikely though, as Nintendo has evidently gotten insanely greedy.

Mariotag

Mariotag

@Pastellioli Yea, I forget what the last thing I said on kitsune was, but most places, they lack transformation abilities.. I still remember Our Home's Fox Deity though. The one in that disguised as human was like, "I'm sure glad I decided to be a girl today!"

Really short? Tbh, that's good news for me. Though it might be the path you chose. I chose Dimitri.
Also, you played Wii U HW? Niiice. Played the DLC too?

I ragequit far faster than that. I've not really drawn in ages.

Yeah, Naruto is notorious for filler. I dunno about One Piece, but it's understandable.

As for Switch 2...Nintendo really did go out and say their pricing wasn't already influenced by tariffs, huh? Admitted to being greedy af, and they think they'll get paid no matter what they charge...
I knew Iwata going was gonna be hard, but it seems he was keeping the greed in check.

Just occurred to me, we could have another N64 situation on out hands instead of flat out greed.
N64 games notoriously cost more because carts were more expensive to manufacture than the PS1 discs.

@Mariotag Kitsune and mythological creatures are so interesting and capture my attention a ton.

It is short, and each route has 16 chapters, though less depending on the decisions you make in one of the later chapters. I only did the Golden Wildfire route though. I did play the original Hyrule Warriors, but I don’t think I ever had the DLC…maybe I’m not remembering well, but I remember having some DLC outfits for Lana and Cia though.

That’s understandable. I usually do get like that sometimes. Rarely I try to make a new piece to replace a drawing I messed up. I remember years ago, I wasn’t really good at drawing, and I made this artwork that, for my art skills at the time, was somewhat more detailed than my other drawings. I also had these acrylic paints I had, and I thought “I’m going to color this in well!” and it didn’t go well. I was bad at acrylics and I made the mistake of diluting the paint and using it like watercolor but ruined the drawing and got super upset. I did trace over the failed drawing and salvaged it, but I rarely do that, because I don’t have the time to anymore. Paint is one of the drawing materials I’m absolutely bad at using. I also wasted money on a bunch of bottles last year because of a painting I wanted to make in my head,, but when the painting looked bad in it’s early stage, I gave up, trashed the botched painting later on and donated the bottles.

The pricing is so iffy. The games look cool, but they sound so pricey. I get why the console is priced that much, but I’m more disappointed in the prices for the first-party games, though luckily the only Switch 2 game I’m interested in is DK Bananza. Sucks that pre-orders got delayed because of tariffs, and pretty much everyone else has to suffer because of it. I wasn’t going to pre-order, but hopefully they announce a new date quickly since it’s releasing in two months time. I can imagine the release being somewhat of a mess with the pre-orders being delayed and the console selling out quickly. Plus why are they charging for simple features and stuff that should have been free? The voice chat is going to be locked behind an NSO sub so some people won’t be able to use it, and the welcome tour tech demo shouldn’t even be paid. I’m glad the welcome tour is at a small price at roughly $6, but should a tech demo that isn’t an actual game cost money?

@Mariotag They can. They usually assume forms of beautiful women. Much like kitsunes and Huli jings. In fact the huli jing influenced the creation of kitsunes and kumihos in korean and japanese folklore.

Mariotag

@Pastellioli Yeah. Mythological creatures are awesome! ...for the most part. I would definitely not want a medusa to exist. Ever.

16?? I'm struggling at like, 4-5... Yeah. OG HW DLC was an earlier example of you getting this immense amount of extra content for $20, but it got so brutal... I never fully finished it. Can't recall if there were outfits prior to the DLC. Cia only came as part of the DLC though.

Yeahhh. Funnily enough, I mostly do digital art if I'm gonna try. I've had loads of anxiety with messy stuff. I'm not ready to try paint. But it's worth noting, Wii U Gamepad aside, a special case in its own right, I'm bad at digital art flat out.

The pricing is nuts. The only pricing I thought reasonable was the console itself. Sure, it's expensive. But it isn't like, ps3 launch day expensive. Or a ps5 pro. Closer to launch day ps5. Between that and ps4 launch day. The game prices are nuts for the most part, but I am pleased to see some games buck the insane new trend. Weird how games have cost between $50-$70 for like, the entirety of the console market up till now. Unaffected by inflation, they just were. Then Nintendo decided to price them up. It could be like N64, where cart manufacturing was just that much more expensive. But given their other choices, I'm going with sheer greed.
Yes, the tariffs are becoming a nightmare. I can understand why they're there at least, cause the US has been placed at a massive economic disadvantage, with everyone else doing manufacturing, and others taking advantage of the US. There's a chart I asked my dad to show me, which would depict the US tariffs, and what they're in response to.
Still, no question they harm the consumer. My hope is that as a result, Nintendo will find they cannot go too Wario with their prices, or ppl just won't buy. The new Wii U, by their own choice, again.

Sunsy

@Pastellioli Thanks! Will say, the biggest highlight while I was away, I went to a hockey game with my friend. He wanted to do it for his birthday and I went. Don't regret it, and it made me play Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics on Wii U for the hockey event there.

I really hope that retailers follow suit and compete to help lower the prices of retail games. Really, the $80 price tag is putting me off (in addition to game-key cards). As someone who's also a PC gamer, I've gotten the best deals for games over the years. If prices are too high, I may just consider sticking to PC and older Nintendo consoles. I'll always have a PC for everyday things, but I also play games on it. Planning to play some Jagged Alliance tonight on it. Thanks for reminding me, I need to play more of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Yeah, not voice chat, video chat. The Wii U did video chat first, honestly it was a good app to use. My friend and I used it quite a bit.

I'd imagine that much, I do have the charging grip for the Joy-Cons ever since, well before I had my Switch. Toys R Us was going out of business, so I grabbed the charging grip for cheap before I had the system. I'd imagine they would work given a lot of third party controllers are officially licensed too.

While I don't know if I'll get one (again, $80 games are putting me off), that worries me a bit too. I noticed one of the games that didn't work was Asphalt Legends Unite. That's a game I like, play it on both Switch and PC. Who knows if other games have issues. I'd hate to be locked out of Trolls Remix Rescue in event it doesn't work. However, I still keep my older systems, so I could always play on there.

@Mariotag If you ever get it, enjoy it. I consider TMS to be a really underrated game. I agree with both.

@MarioVillager92 It goes well. Even though I was busy, my friend took me to a hockey game, which led me booting up my Wii U to play the hockey event in Mario & Sonic 2014. Sorry to hear about that. YouTube ambiance is the best, that sounds nostalgic. For me, I really like the sounds of planes and car rides. Sometimes I put them on as I fall asleep at night (I usually use a sleep timer to turn off the TV).

Honestly, the price of the games is putting me off. I'm afraid I might not be able to get a Switch 2, and stick to my Switch, older Nintendo consoles and PC, unless a price drop happens. Which I do have a lot to play across all of them. I did play my Wii U during the week. Yeah, game-key card is just a bad idea. I buy physical to have it on the cart. If I want digital, I'd just buy the download it. I've been doing both physical and digital across Wii to Switch. Also, that physical copy saves on system memory and SD card space.

That would be something I would love to see happen, the same situation with the 3DS. I remember that like it was yesterday. My friend is the only person who was an early adopter of the 3DS (or an "ambassador" as Nintendo puts it), and others I know got the 3DS later on after the price drop, myself included. I would love to see another 3DS situation happen that could force Nintendo to drop the price.

Just a general comment, not directed to anyone... I miss the old Nintendo, when they didn't do anti-consumer practices like game-key cards or $80 games. The scary part is, if $80 games are successful, you know other game companies are going to follow suit and increase their game prices.

@Sunsy
Oh, about Switch 2 cartridge.
I got clarification again from other user which the cartridge will have game data inside the cartridge, even the 1st party games.
Only certain 3rd party games that usually the lazy developer games with code in box / partial download which using game-key cartridge.
It's safe to say we can have full games in Switch 2 cartridge.

Rhythm gonna hit your head.

Sunsy

@Mariotag Alright, cool you have the game on Wii U. Indeed, I'm glad it's not all games, still upsets me that such an option exists and you know companies are going to use that game-key option.

@Anti-Matter I'd figure that much. The fact the option to do such exists, you know third party developers are going to take advantage of them to save money. At that point, just make it a code in a box, gets rid of the extra step of inserting a game-key card to play the game since the game downloads from the eShop anyway. Or better yet, buy those digitally.

This is coming from someone who has physical games too.

The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!

VividSkies

@Sunsy Ooh, you went to a hockey game? Cool! It’s cool you played a Mario & Sonic game, because I also played the 2009 Winter Olympic Games one on the Wii, though that was the only Mario & Sonic game I played.

I hope so too, especially since retailers in other countries plan on selling some of the games cheaper. It’s just the price of the games that are somewhat off-putting, and I also heard others say Nintendo never discounts their own games? That is disappointing to hear, so people might have to rely on other game retailers for that since they tend to discount certain games or sell them pre-owned. I am fine maybe waiting a bit to get the Switch 2 since I have an Xbox, but I really don’t want to miss out on Bananza. Though, people are hoping that if they wait enough there will be another 3DS situation where they slash the price of the Switch 2 down significantly if it doesn’t sell a lot of units because of the price, though I do expect the Switch 2 to sell a lot of units once it releases, cuz I know there’s a lot of hardcore fans that are planning on getting it day one. Enjoy Age of Calamity when you get into it!

Whoops, I misread. Yeah, I wanted to do video chat on Wii U but it was discontinued by the time I wanted to, but I’m sure I tried doing it when Nintendo and everyone else had moved to the Switch, so it was to be expected. It is nice it’s coming back for Switch but it’s paid…

I don’t have a charging grip for the OG Joy-cons, but it’s no problem since they’ll charge alongside the Switch. The news about them not being chargeable with the Switch 2 didn’t bother me much though since Im sure a lot of people are going to hold onto their OG Switches when they get the 2.

I am glad that a lot of the backwards compatible games are playable but I know that they said certain games wouldn’t be playable (so far the only confirmed incompatible game was Nintendo Labo, but mainly because the Switch 2 doesn’t fit in the sets) its good they are trying to make the games with launch issues work on the newer hardware, though it’s still a bummer they might have to exclude certain games if they can’t fix the issues, but luckily from their report a majority of the partner games ran, though it’s subject to change since they said some of the launched games were still being tested.

@Sunsy Oh that's cool you got to see a hockey game, my dad is a big hockey fan. I have Mario Sports Mix and that has hockey in it, I remember it being fun. Been years since I last played it though. That's cool you like the YouTube ambiance videos too! The sounds of car rides is nice. I'm personally not too huge into plane sounds though, the sound of them taking off scares me, though that's just me. As a fan of trains, I love the sounds of old steam trains. The sound of the train chugging is actually really nice to sleep to and helps me feel like I'm on a huge railway journey.

Yeah, I'll very likely stick with my Switch for the time being. There's still quite a few games I should play more of on there, as well as the 3DS and Wii U. Plus a lot of those I know don't seem to be planning on getting a Switch 2 this early on - I'd want to play Mario Kart World with friends once I get that and a Switch 2. From what I've heard about the game key cards, they aren't a one-time use and you could move it between systems. They sound a little better than those download codes that were in some physical Switch 1 games, that would download like the rest of the game, but not by a lot. I'd imagine you'd still need to connect to the internet to download it and make sure the servers aren't discontinued.

Yeah definitely, that would be great. At least with the prices of some games. It's a console I'd love to have, I'd love to play its exclusives and the GameCube games online, but yeah... the games potentially asking for $80 is an issue, and I was expecting $70 games myself. Plus there's only three games on the GC app at launch, and some of the games I want on there - Mario Kart: Double Dash and Mario Party 4, 5, 6, and 7 for example - weren't announced yet. Would love to play those with friends online.

@Sunsy
So, what is your plan for Switch 1 and your other platform gaming when Switch 2 situation is not great?
I will get final upgrade by purchasing OLED edition since Switch 2 prospect doesn't look great at all with all the monetized and the scam.
There are still too many Switch 1 games I can get to build my Switch 1 games library and with addition of OLED edition, I can get into another 1000+ hours of ACNH on OLED machine, making 2nd island with different villagers, different island looking, different island terraforming. And since I still keep my Switch V1, I can play Local mode of ACNH and I will exchange items to build the item catalogue.
Also, I will take "Retro" Route by collecting the retro games, previous gen games that I still haven't have yet for my alternative worthy purchase.
Oh, of course I still stay on PS4, PS5 route for my 3rd party games.
I will wait and see the Switch 2 sales that will drop drastically and even worse than Wii U sales situation.

@Pastellioli (Apologies for the late reply.) Thank you. I'm feeling a little better. Been listening to some ambiance videos on YouTube and they've been helping me cheer up and have a good night's sleep. Got to listen to one that has 1950s oldies and it got me in a better mood. And yes, a little fun fact about me, I like old-timey stuff.

Ah gotcha, so looks like your only option is to start from scratch. I'm sorry to hear regardless. Yeah, I remember the Leaf Tickets since that was how the game was monetized. I don't think I completed a furniture set until Pocket Camp Complete. The Leaf Tokens in PCC are a lot more player-friendly, I find, since you could just get them by playing the game. Plus you'd just spend 25 of them (as opposed to 250 Leaf Tickets) to get the 5 fortune cookies, that is so much better! It's still left to luck on what items you'll get, but the new system here allows us to keep trying much more easily.

Yeah, the third-party characters would be neat for sure. As somebody who mostly plays Nintendo games, I am fine with that for sure. I'd imagine they would have to strike deals with Sega, Capcom, Square Enix, etc. to have non-Nintendo character icons.

Yeah, I should. I'll be sure to post my thoughts when I do. There's another game I remember that stars Donald Duck, called Quackshot, and that was also for the Genesis. I remember that one being fun. I wanna try out World of Illusion sometime, as well. That's cool, nothing wrong with typing a lot about what you've watched.

Oh gosh, the 2050s? That's quite a long time away from now, lol. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking that would happen, I don't want to time travel in New Horizons. Happy Home Paradise is fun for sure. To get the gist of it, you'd design vacation homes for folks, as well as other buildings. If you enjoy designing your home in Animal Crossing, I highly recommend it.

I remember hearing how it got reworked into Sabreman Stampede, then got cancelled. They did for sure. Speaking of which, although I never played it, I remember seeing Donkey Kong Barrel Blast for the Wii, which was also a racing game. I don't like being too critical, but that game just did not look good to me. I didn't like how you're essentially required to continually shake the Wii remote and nunchuk to play it. It's why I never got it and just waited for Mario Kart Wii instead, lol. On a somewhat related note, Donkey Kong Bananza looks great and I'd love to play it when I get a Switch 2 in the future. Kind of wondering about the next 3D Mario game, though.
