How about this:

An add-on phone peripheral (sorta like the CPP but not as bulky) that you can plug into the 3DS so you can take calls through your 3DS (perhaps with an improved mic) that will also provide the 3DS with Wi-Fi capabilities anywhere and a longer battery life?

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
