Today's episode was great! Nothing very special but it was cool seeing Rarity and Applejack having a bit of a conflict! Oh, and I think that spike had a lot of funny moments here. But Pinkie was just... What?
Aaand we're halfway through season 4. Great so far, much better than season 3! If it's better than 1 or 2 I'm not sure yet.. We'll have to see what the second half has in store.
So, that was the first episode I watched on my 3DS, lol. I didn't get up early enough to see it on TV, and my computer is still in for repairs. So 3DS it was!
Anyway, first thoughts: Rarity is so cute! XD
Well, this one had to have been the funniest one yet in my opinion! It really hit my sense of humor perfectly!
...I loved the face Spike made at that one part! And the scene where Trendhoof looks at Apple Jack! Priceless! XD
...And Rarity's failure of a country accent was really great, too! I laughed more at this episode than I have in a long time! It was great!
It had me laughing the entire time! ...I didn't even really laugh much at the Weird Al one, even though I enjoyed it so much. And that's something!
You know, I've given up hope for Pinkie Pie at this point, though. She's gone off the deep end now... I don't see how she can ever be anything resembling normal ever again... I mean, I just don't know what to think of Pinkie Pie anymore... she has the exact kind of personality that I like the least, exaggerated to over-the-top proportions...
Happy weekend everypony! Late post because busy weekend.
Ah, there was some speculation about the keys and the "rainbow bright objects", I bet this is exactly what the writers of the show wanted. I pass, they haven't give us enough information to really guess what is going to happen. It is quite obvious that the objects are important and related to the bigger arc that includes the box. But other than that, at this moment in the season, they could have written whatever with those elements. They could simply have done anything but show the "color lighted items" for all the season, and made an extrmely simple and predictable "oh those were the keys all the time" plot in the last episode, that lead to the mane 6 getting new magical mcguffins from the box in the end. OR they could have made a three parter season finale with a convoluted epic plot that somehow involved said items, other stuff (the diary, the ponies that give them the items, the tree of Harmony, the princesses, Discord, a new villain, etc.), the keys themselves and whatever amazing thing is in the box. And of course, anything inbetween those extremes could happen. Meh, I prefer to wait and make an educated guess when it is possible.
@Lunapplebloom You should totally do more little reviews about the comics, it is always interesting.
Today’s episode Simple Ways was fun, nothing special but ok.
The only word that came to my mind with this episode was "silly". It felt like one of those juvenile sitcoms from Disney Channel, that is not bad, those usually had good comedy thrown in with stereotype plots; I do think that is what we have here, and it was well made so no complains, there is space for all type of comedy on MLP. Besides, AJ and Rarity's banter at the end was amazing, so yeah: funny. Tabitha is one of the best voice actress ever, she always steals the show when Rarity has breakdowns. Finally, Spike gets some respect even though he really doesn't do much, he at least felt important. I liked that the rest of the mane 6 didn't show much, I'm all in for more focused plots sometimes. Again nice episode.
Wanted to mention that last week I spent all my free time watching some of the Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 marathon on youtube. The event was pretty cool, you guys should go and check the list for games you may be interested to see speedrun. The last game was Chrono Trigger, beaten in about five and a half hours. I just watched it all, and that led to my next story recommendation:
FoTW
I was sure that I had already recommended this one, but thanks to Aqueous, now I know I hadn't, big mistake. Tonight on the ==Fic of The Week,== a quite funny and well adapted version of one of the best video games ever. I present you:
My Little Chrono Triggers Are Magic by Pav Feira
[On Fimfiction Crossover Incomplete Everyone]
Rainbow Dash attends her hometown's Millennial Summer Sun Celebration. After enjoying herself a bit, she meets a peculiar pink pony and befriends her. When they go to watch the testing of the newest invention of Rainbow's closest friend, Twilight Sparkle, a strange portal appears and her new friend gets pull inside. Now, the two old friends must give chase and embark on the most important adventure in all of history.
As I said this is an adaptation, it is Chrono Trigger, but with ponies. Now this can be seen as a bad thing, as the story is almost the same, so the original story's twists coughDashwilldiecough are expected; however, the story is a delight to read. Seeing our pony characters so well written and so in character while portraying the game original characters is nothing but outstanding. There is much cleverness in how the author uses the slight parallels of both worlds to create something "new". It is just real fun. Add the dept that the writing media adds to the events, with scenes that are hilarious, or dramatic, or exciting in ways that the original game couldn't show, and that even add new themes to the story; and you get something really worth reading, even if you know the end of the story.
The only bad thing is that the story updates every blue moon. I usually don't recommend stories like that, but, as I said, the story is known, so no cliffhangers. As incomplete as it is, this piece is still great.
Great Writing.
@Twilight_Crow - You're welcome and sorry I missed the stream you posted, I think I came in when it was starting and said it runs later and left. The story reading sounded like it would have been good to listen to.
(Now I got spoilers in case I ever play Chrono Trigger which won't happen as I've been told it uses a Real Time Battle System kind of like FFVI, which I can't stand.)
I don't like this kind of episode, not sure if this or Daring Do was worse.

@Nathan_Wv10 I can't speak for anything they've done in the past, but this newest series is outstanding, and well deserving of all the praise it has received! I encourage people to watch it at least once; not everyone's going to like it as much as me, but it's always worth a shot!
