Your Style easily matches impressionism, which is a style I struggle greatly with but yet still looks very representational (realistic). I had 3 years with a great teacher but computer was never covered, nor was any other digital format. Trust me, your very good.

Seems to me that he has some natural talent with a tablet. I started using mine again, and I'm just starting to get used to it. My art skills art particularly good.
Hard for me to explain but it has kind of a watery effect, like ripples. Nothing is overly detailed when it is realistic. Still it can be more abstract. Your current profile picture I do believe works as one. A famous impressionism artist would be Van Gogh if you want some ideas of what it can look like, this wikipedia page has some, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impressionism I will say I can't do it my self as I add detail till it becomes realistic, when I try to make it. Also I won't try and be an expert on naming something as Impressionism because I can be fooled and it can easily look like representational (realistic) art.
@Tare - nice joke, can't wait to see what your capable of, I'm struggling because the friction of paper keeps my hand stead and I don't have that on the 3DS and I'm new to drawing both fan art and ponies.
