i began wondering the possibilities of a Zelda Movie, so don't get giddy over the thread title. this entire thread is about the possibilities of a Zelda movie. the likeliness of an official Zelda movie is about 1/10,000,000,000. that being said, i want to begin with saying that nothing could ever come close to doing the characters and the series justice. they're both just pure awesome, with a legendary (see what i did there) piece of the story added with each installment. but which game would it be based on? would it be based on a game at all? probably, because writing an original movie would maybe stray too far from the original game. fans of the series would possibly be offended, while the audience that doesnt play the series would be missing out on what makes the series special, so i believe it would be based on one of the games. but again, which game? i'll leave that up to you, my lovelies, though, if i were responsible for the film, i'd make a Link to the Past-arguably the BEST game in the series, and the most innovative. now, WHO would direct this movie? Hayao Miyazaki, all the way. not because i'm a fan of him, because i'm not. i choose him because he usually directs some weird movies, and let's be honest with ourselves; the LoZ series has some weird stuff in it. knowing Miyazaki, i trust him to remain faithful to the anime art style of LttP, and i trust him to make a decent LoZ movie. again, go ahead and tell me who YOU think could do a good job directing the movie. Now, how would this movie be presented? hand drawn anime type (my personal choice), live-action, or CGI? i personally cannot see LoZ as anything other than a hand drawn anime, especially with Miyazaki. i personally hate CGI. it was neat when pixar did it for their first movie, but then everyone started doing it, and it just looks disgusting to me now. seeing the new winnie the pooh movie was a breath of fresh air. whenever i see costumes of Link or Zelda on halloween, the costumes just look look wrong. seeing the movie as a hand drawn anime would not only be another breath of fresh air, but it would also be nice to see the hero from the SNES manual on the big screen, and noticing that they're the same, though i would appreciate some originality in the characters and the fields. creativity, Am-I-Right? so, those are my thoughts. comment below on what you'd LOVE to see in a Zelda movie. agree with me? disagree?

@Happy_Mask: That's why Link should only be played by one of the best actors. Maybe if I become an actor I'll play Link. I can pull off any emotion flawlessly most of the time. (Yes, I'm that cold and heartless.)
@ShadJV: But that... that hair... it looked nothing like Link's, and that's one of his most profound features.

It would need to be animated. I've had an idea for a movie version that is sort of a combination of Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time (but mostly MM). I thought about writing a script for it, but there wouldn't be much point...

And yes, Link would have to remain silent.

well, if it's live action, he should be CGI. you could have someone like Andy Serkis playing his part. he's more than worthy of the part as Ganondorf.

now that i think about it, it WOULD be interesting. especially since he named his daughter "Zelda".
