Is the best brand that has ever existed. Definitely not the most popular or prolific.

Just that their music is cohesive and of high quality over an extremely long time. But more than anything the lyrics are so deep and prophetic. While most bands are singing about love, heartbreak, being young, or partying/feeling good they're out there talking about more existential things without any pretentiousness.

There's about 3 dozen songs of theirs I would like to play at my funeral. 90% of their stuff is what I would like to watch an hour long video essay about.

I don't think anyone is out there releasing whole albums talking about why humanity is bent on self destruction, or hiding from pain, or what it feels like to be hopeful about a heaven you don't actually believe in.

I'd just don't think enough people have given them a chance.

I know there's a lot of obscure artists, especially black ones in America that influenced a lot that came after, and they deserve to be thought of as the most important. But I don't see anything who just makes solid rock music with lyrics that make me feel little in the universe but still seen.

"The world is an inventor with it's work crawling, running, squirming around. (Treetop drop colorful fruits directly into our mouths.) The world is an inventor and we're the dirtiest thing it's thought about, and we really don't mind."

When someone creates a sentiment so clear and dark behind heart pumping and energetic music, how can you ignore it?

It's kinda sad that they had one big hit and a few smaller ones.

Please go to YouTube and just listen to their albums or read the lyrics from websites. It's the realism that we need.
