Topic: How FAST can you go?

Typing speed, folks!

I just did that test above and scored 107 words per minute, with one mistake.

Oh, I thought this was running speed. Used to be a lot faster as a kid before teenage laziness bogged me down...

But anyway, typing speed? I'd describe mine as just meh.

Yeah lets just say not fast at all.

First test 93 WPM with 3 mistakes, second test 86 WPM with no mistakes. Grrr, I will beat you!

62 words per minute, no mistakes. Not too bad.

I don't synchronize my fingers very well. I usually mix up letters and end up retyping most of the words in my sentences. If not for that, I'd probably have double my leisurely 53 wpm rate.

Also I thought it was about a sequel to FAST on WiiWare, lol.

Boy, it doesn't help that some of the writing samples for the speed test are really old. A Tale of a Tub? Doesn't exactly flow as smoothly as you'd hope.

I thought that was the point of typing tests - they're deliberately designed with difficult grammar, spelling and wording to test people's abilities across the whole keyboard.

I know when I write reviews and the like my typing speed exceeds 120 wpm. I know because I can knock off a 1000-word article in around 7-8 minutes.

I guess that actually does make sense now that I think about it.

43 wpm with one mistake. Ironically, I was typing an excerpt from George Orwell's Animal Farm ^_^

My sample had a spelling error in the first sentence. "...dusty hired fly..." ??? wtf? lol

Anyways, I got 90 wpm and it claims I had one mistake. However THAT assessment is incorrect as you can clearly see below I typed my irksome phrase perfectly!

That's not a typo. That's the actual text from the story.

I thought it was supposed to say, dusty haired fly. Despite that oversight on my part, what's up with the one mistake it's saying I made? lol

I had 33 WPW with 6 mistakes, although I'm not very good with copying what's written. Usually what I want to say is already in my mind, so I don't even have to stop to look up and such. Then, after I'm done with my work, I'll check over it, so I don't think this test is quite accurate for things like forums. Interesting, though.
