For awhile now Directv and Viacom have been in disputes. Viacom wants to raise the cost to Directv which in turn will raise the price for customers. The point of this is to make up what money they lose by giving away their shows for free on sites like Nick.com. Anyway since July 10 Viacom has pulled all their channels from Directv, channels including Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, Spike and many others. So has this effected you in anyway? Me personally I dont watch alot of TV and luckily Legend of Korra wrapped up a few weeks ago. The only effect really it has on me was I wasnt able to see the new episode of Futurama tonight. What shows are you missing out on and what do you think of the dispute?
Not personally affected as I no longer subscribe to any TV services other than Netflix, but I feel bad for people who are now missing out on their favorite shows because of these two companys' and their greed. I do occassionally go to nick.com to watch shows like the previously mentioned Legend of Korra (great show, by the way) and I was aggrivated to see earlier today that Viacom has basically started a smear campaign against DirectTV. The site is covered in ads talking about how DirectTV is pulling channels and how customers need to call a 1-800 number and demand that DirectTV readd their channels. It is just childish and, quite frankly, it reminds me of the political ads that are littering television right now.

I'm certain I won't be effected.
I might be affected though.
Ok fixed thanks for the correction I sat here for awhile trying to remember which one I wanted but finally just guessed. Guess I was wrong.

That's a little surprising, but that's understandable considering that Dish and DIRECTV constantly lures customers with 'over 200-300 channels' at a reduced price for a few months. Now that I think of it, DIRECTV keeps bragging about their number of channels
Comcast/Xfinity is using this to get customers to jump ship and into their circle lol
Hear it on the radio a lot.
Doesnt surprise me but thats Comcast for you. THe whole reason I went with Directv is cause a few years back Comcast in my area dropped a bunch of channels I watched.

I have DirecTv, but rarely watched any of the those channels so no big deal on my end. Now if I had Dish and lost AMC like they did, I would be one unhappy camper.
I wish Directv was in Canada, unfortunately, it is illegal to own a satellite from the United States, when you live in Canada. Most of it is not bad, but all the channels aren't technically owned by Viacom. Companies like Corus, Bell, and Astral take it off Viacom's hands, they still have most the content an American version would have, just with more Canadian content.
