you got i all wrong. the fund for lost children and child protection service are putting up lawsuits agenst nintendo not to do it becuase they want nintendo to be known as a child friendly company nintendo very much wants this app but the lawsuits will restrict it unless nintendo go's to cort and says it will use friend codes just like the wii speak channle it will never happen

This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear

Sheesh! Just put an option in the parental controls to restrict the child's DSi from installing the program; and all can be good!!!

a child that has a friend at school can just trade friend codes with his or her friend now depending on if the child will hear bad language it is usually the behavior of who there talking to there for there friend should be blamed

Why are we all crying about children talking to strangers. Its not like they will search for someone just to see if there a weird 40 year old.

Plus, how many KIDS do you know that have skype?

From what I could read of that, why should it be anyone's fault if they both consciously add each other?

it depends on the person if they start talking bad words also the person could report them at anytime

Honestly, Nintendo does enough to block people from one another. They hide our friends behind a wall of numbers and codes. I think it's a little ridiculous. This is why I prefer microsoft's way of working out wi-fi gaming. Nintendo is taking safety precautions a bit too far. But, it is a pretty good way to prevent child abductions. There have been so many people kidnapped from situations like these. Also, the PSP has skype, I don't see why the dsi can't.
