Topic: I'm restarting my pokemon game

I'm trying to restart my Pokemon Platinum game and I'm a little hesitant to, I'm thinking of Piplup, Swablu and I'm still trying to figure out my third.

Any advice?

With those two you will end up with the types Water, Steel, Dragon and Flying. I'd either advise a Fire or a Psychic type; some suitable ones might be:
Blasiken/Infernape (If you don't mind using another starter)
Houndoom
Metagross
Gallade
Of course it is ultimately down to you so good luck choosing and playing through again!

I was thinking, maybe Vaporeon/Eevee or I might take advice and use Espeon , I'm also thinking of Gable, Pikachu, Elekid, Rhyhorn or Dragonair.

I don't use Mew/Mewtwo. Yeah, I'm only familiar with the original and probably a lot of them got obsoleted by the newer ones.

I abused Rest & Double Team on a lot of my Pokemon. Double Team is purchasable in the old game, and to get multiple Pokemon with Rest, I used up the TM and then just start a new game to get another one (with my Pokemon stored on Pokemon Stadium before deleting so I could keep them).

Moves on a Clefairy:
Rest
Minimize
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt

Or this:
Rest
Minimize
Thunder Wave (or Body Slam)
Seismic Toss

I speak for Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow so I can't say for sure that I'd apply it to the newer generations.

1-man army it! Just have two random dudes to use all of the HMs.

Flying types are always best to have on a team.

I thought of making an team thats mostly Dragon, Water, Steel and Electric. LOL, I found my Pokemon Soulsilver and I'm still trying to get myself to restart it. I have not even hatched an Rhyhorn, Pichu or Elekid yet....Though Pichu is an pain to evolve, harder than Togepi.

Soothe Bell and Biking is what I do. :3 That's how I got my Riolu to evolve.

So thats how you evolve a Riolu, love?....I'll try to see what happens, even on Togepi....Though I'm going to avoid using metronome, Togepi likes to through things on occasion.

I evolved a Woobat (which also evolves based on happiness) in Black and White simply by levelling up. You get a good happiness bonus by levelling so I took a low-level Woobat with an Exp Share and fought pokemon as high-level as my others could handle for an hour or so. That (well, I sped the process up slightly but it's not necessary) was enough to get it to evolve!

I too was also thinking about restarting my Pokemon Heart Gold, but I'm still not sure, even with all my critters on Black and White anyway. I might just buy Soul Silver or Diamond instead of restarting my current game...
