Hi. I discovered a glitch in Dr. Luigi. Selecting one of the music tracks causes the software and operating system to crash. It's not a big deal to simply avoid it, but I suspect a redownload may fix the issue. I'm hesitant to delete the original file without first knowing whether someone has recently redownloaded something on the WiiU shop. Has anyone done this recently?
@Burning_Spear, I did a bunch of research on this when they first shut down the ability to purchase digital stuff on the 3DS and Wii U. As of right now, you can still:
Delete and re-download software that you have already purchased or downloaded, except demos which can't be re-downloaded
Download updates for software that haven't been downloaded yet
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
@Burning_Spear I’ve done this in the past year. Federation Force was crashing on loading a specific area in mission, and Mario VS Donkey Kong Tipping Stars would crash when selecting any of the menu options. I believe it was a data corruption issue, probably due to a bad SD card. The 3DS eShop has a function in one of the menus to check a software for repairs, and let you redownload it. I assume the WiiU has a similar function?
@SteveDaSteve@ShieldHero Thanks, both. Since you can't redownload a game that's already on your system, my worry is I delete the software and then find I can't redownload it. Not sure it's worth it for a music track, but if @SteveDaSteve has done it, I guess I it's safe to try.
UPDATE: And it worked! The music track that was causing the glitch is no longer crashing the software, but it also produces static at certain points during playback. Oh well.
