It probably will sound weird but the puzzle and dragons z title - especially the super mario bros edition was the title that had the greatest impact on me... Can't really tell you why, but if I could play any game out of that nintendo direct show I think I would pick that one up. I never actually played anything from that series, though.
Puzzles and Dragons Z actually looks more interesting to me, what with the towns and NPCs and whatnot. I don't recall if the Mario version had that stuff or not.
I was probably gonna get this but making it two games is awesome and makes it almost certainly must-buy. I don't get a chance to play a lot of good puzzle games usually so this is as good an excuse as any.
If it has better balancing than the iPad version where you progress at a reasonable pace instead of making it that you're blazing through the the first few levels then hit a wall around level 10 that just keeps climbing, I'd be very interested in playing this. It's a fun game at its core and the added stuff Z has sounds pretty neat. It's just the freemium model that hurt it...

I don't know how the Japanese release is but the paid version better not have the energy stuff the Android version had iirc
