Topic: Lack of Online Games... on Nintendo eShop

I have barely seen any game with any sort of online functionality, save for Zen / Marvel Pinball 3D. Seriously, what is up with that?

That upcoming Planet Crashers with online gameplay looks good enough for me to keep tabs on. But seriously, I see only two games that use the 3DS's online capabilities. I just hope that they turn it around with more online games in the future.

ATV Wild Ride 3D is offering online racing. And is set for a Summer release.

Whoa, I almost forgot about that. It looks like Renegade Kid is really pushing the eShop with online games lately.

maybe escape! zombie city will have a online co-op?but doubt it.maybe a leader board for the endless mode.

I just never really thought of online multiplayer as a must for download titles.

I am a bit surprised however, that online leaderboards (like the one's in Zen/Marvel Pinball) aren't more common. Games like Bomb Monkey, and Ketzals Corridors probably would have benefited from them.

You're right. It isn't, but there is a huge gaping hole when it comes to online games on the eShop.

I guess the users here have to find something to complain about or point out

Yeah. Lack of online games don't detract from the quality of the games already on eShop. But it's merely an observation that really takes me by surprise, as the online functionality is actually half-decent.

Well, either way, that's something to ask the developers, considering the option is there

All I need is ATV Wild Ride 3D and I can die a happy man.

Planet Crashers will have online. Plus when certain retail games launch on the eShop more online games will pop up.

Not really a 'game', but that is actually a great addition to the eShop.

But here, I'm talking about GAMES. Like Planet Crashers, Zen / Marvel Pinball, and ATV Wild Ride 3D.

Games which are based SOLELY on score attack mode seriously suffer when there's a lack of online boards (Bomb Monkey and Bird Mania 3D are perfect examples)

If there's other content to it, then it's not so much a problem. (Sakura Samurai includes a time attack mode with 3 difficulties, but that's only bonus content)

Anywho. I agree thats it's pretty upsetting and heroes of ruin and mario kart and kid Icarus are the only games I can think of that have good online, and leader boards dont really give me much of that "online" feel. Seeing some kid score some outrageous score never mattered to me. But that ATV 3D does look pretty sick not going to lie
