I seemed to got an error code stating that an update is available for SSB upon trying to connect online. Upon checking (automatically), it is now updating.
I know about https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/02/super_smash_bros_3ds... , but it is nice to receive the update a day early! It is taking a while to update as I type this.
