What eShop games do you think flew under the radar?
I'll start out with Family Tennis 3D. It's gotten positive reviews (NL: 7/10. NWR: 8/10.), but (according to eShop ratings) has a paltry amount of purchases. In fact, there are many games with mostly negative (or at least lower) reviews, like Planet Crashers or Johnny Kung-Fu that have outsold it.
It may not be Mario Tennis Open (which I haven't played), but it's a fun & wacky arcade tennis game, that's well worth the low price. I've played through tournament mode on all 3 difficulties with all 8 characters, and I still play a few quick matches a day.
EDIT: found another review. Nintendo Okie gave it a 4/5.
Hidden Gems listed thus far:
Family Tennis 3D (RR529)
Order Up (rayworld45)
Akari by Nikoli (TheDreamingHawk)
Art of Balance Touch (WaveBoy)
Bomb Monkey (Square-enixFan)
Pyramids (Alien_Mosky)
X-Scape* (Rayworld45)
Roller Angels* (PlasticRevolver)
Dracula - Undead Awakening* (Undead_Terror)
Digger Dan & Kaboom* (I'mDiggerDan)
Ivy the Kiwi? Mini* (Sony_70)
Ace Mathician* (RainbowCrasher)
Picdun* (MikeDanger)
Escapee GO!* (Onikato)
Flametail* (Onikato)
Hello Flowerz* (Morphtroid)
(* indicates Nintendo DSiWare)
Here are the rules:
A game can't be listed as a hidden gem until it's been on sale for 2 months.
For DSiWare, the game has to have less than 1,000 eShop ratings. For a "3DS Download", it must have less than 2,000 (as eShop is generally a more successful service than DSiWare).
Also, I'm aware that eShop ratings aren't indicative of quality, but they do give a rough idea of how many units have sold.
I think part of why it flew under the radar was because the "Family" line of games on the Wii had a really bad reception. Plus, it just doesn't scream "I'm worth buying". Zack and Wiki had the same kind of problem with the latter issue.
Plus, Johnny Kung-Fu has way more advertising, and Planet Crashers... It stands out?
Regardless, I guess I'll try this game out.

Colors 3D:
How's Art of Balance Touch? Seems like another Gemmy' Aside from Dillon's Rolling Western it's the only eShop title left i'm mildy interested in. So far I've played these aside from all of the 3D NES Classics >
I'm pretty picky. Hell, I'm not even really that interested in Colors 3D! as great as it is, and this is coming from an artist.

I have both art of balance touch and dillon's rolling western and I can report that they are definitely worth getting. Even with a big price tag, DRW is fun, intuitive and a time consumer. Its almost long enough to be a full retain title, IMO. Art of balance is pretty addictive...
Currently playing: Rhythm Heaven, Minecraft (XBLA), Pokemon B/W 2, Halo 4, The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave, Fallblox, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN)
Will be playing soon: Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Cave Story +, Wii U: NSMBU, Nintendo Land, (And lots more!)
Hmm, Art of Balance TOUCH!, could use some more exposure, but (based on eShop ratings) hasn't done terribly either. I for one enjoyed it.
However, Dillon's Rolling Western & Colors! 3D are assuredly not hidden gems (they're a couple of the biggest names on the eShop, and for good reason).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Good observation, but I think the reason Planet Crashers and Jhonny Kung Fu have gained more interest because they are quite original titles (to an extent), they are quite unique, which I think attracted people, despite negative reviews. Family tennis 3D has sold less because it is, let's face it, incredibly unoriginal and uninspired, so it hasn't attracted many people because it's just another bland looking tennis game, despite it gaining quite positive reviews.
I think that because I definitely have more interest in Johnny Kung Fu and Planet Crashers than Family Tennis 3D because they look a little more interesting, despite negative reviews. That's just what I think...

I mean the reversed dates. When I was playing it earlier this month on august 1st, it told me it was January 8TH, which is obviously not right, and it's strange considering the proper date is in the file select.
Oh, and did I mention it crashes a lot when you mash the B button after existing a world?

You're reading it wrong. In different areas, that is how they do the date.
And while I've seen a couple crashes, it's not that big of a deal. Pyramids/Order Up also crashed on me before.
