SD cards are all uniform, ones that aren't marked 3DS will still work with them. I think the maximum size that the 3DS can use is 32 gigabytes.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

As far as I know, this is the highest capacity SD card available on the consumer market: http://tinyurl.com/ly637df

It won't be compatible with the 3DS right out of the box, but if you use the guide that @AJTsuki posted, it will work. I'm using a 128GB card myself at the moment, only because I'm not paying 5x the price for 2x the capacity.

Thats weird. I just googled it and it gave me the answer at the top with a source:

The Nintendo 3DS supports the following SD Card standards: SD Memory Cards up to 2GB. SDHC Memory Cards between 4GB and 32GB. MiniSD Cards with the use of an SD Card Adapter.

32GB will be fine for me. I will just get the recommended Lexar when it comes to that (Its only about £16).

Even though SDXC is supposed to be perfectly backwards compatible (Once reformated from exfat to fat32).

I have had issues with it previously when used on something where the backwards compatibility is in use.

If you must have a bigger size go for the same range as one of the ones Nintendo has tested. (Not worth a tiny saving for the extra hassle).
