Topic: Analog button compressed while playing smash bros

The other day I was playing smash bros on my 3ds XL when I noticed my analog stick being "sluggish". It wasn't very noticeable so I kept playing.

Today I noticed my analog stick compressed inward and the rubber was rubbing against the 3ds body creating resistance.

I can pop the analog stick back out with my fingers, but it get compresses again after like 5 seconds.

Is this repairable? My 3ds is out of warranty and I don't mind opening it up

Thanks

You must not apply pressure to the analog stick.

Or things like this happen.

I thought mine was doing it but then the rubber wore off the problem disappeared(along with the poor rubber) and I noticed it was just the rubber being rubbery and stretching with all the laws of physics and such.
hope your case is the same then it won't need repair

It might be that I'm regularly an xbox gamer, but I try my best not to push in the analog stick.

I'm going to try trimming the bottom with a sharp razor

I find when I use the analog I tend to push on the sides, rather than dragging it from the center. I'm hoping this will reduce the amount of pressure I put on it and delay stuff like this from happening.
