Topic: 3DS cooler than Kinect & Move

@WaltzElf: OK you have your points, but Sony did NOT invent the idea of a handheld communicating with a console. That was definitely Nintendo. You could connect a GBA to the GC directly, and before that, you could connect GBC games to the N64 for Pokemon Stadium. Nintendo has always been the company to give us experiences that are unique, but are then copied later by others. Don't get me wrong, I love Playstation too, but the big N gave us stuff Sony couldn't until "inspired" by N. Want a rundown? D-Pads, L/R finger trigger buttons, ANALOG control stick, Handheld gaming, Motion Control. Props to Sony for Blu-Ray, multitasking systems.

It's a me, Luigi!

for the love of all that is holy, can we please skip the 'so-and-so did it first!' pissing contest tonight? it's so old and so overdone, and no one is going to agree to disagree no matter how much proof is flung around.

I'd rather have a 3DS than Kinect or Move, only because I love Nintendo handhelds.

I didn't say "communicating" - I said game sharing. you can copy PSN Minis and PSOne classics from the PS3 to PSP - the equivilent would be being able to copy WiiWare games over to a DSi to play on the go.

And I agree with TheBlackDragon. This "so-and-so did it first" stuff is unnecessary. All three companies are equally innovative, and all three equally grab ideas from each other.

I am looking forward to the 3DS the most of the hardware the three vendors are offering up, too. I think it's just going to be a good device. But that's not to discredit the good stuff that the other two are offering with Move and Kinect - all three are seriously cool technologies, imo.

Okay everyone just shaddup and listen to Sir WaltzElf. He is right. Just stop trying.

@blink83: whoa, i didn't say i felt he was right, i just said i'm tired of seeing the same arguing over and over every time someone even breathes 'kinect', 'move', and/or 'wii' in the same sentence, lol.

Agreed, such an argument goes nowhere. Besides, I think Irken said what many of us have to say about all this anyways...

I personally think the 3DS is in itself, one great device but don't take one man's opinion for it. And another thing, in terms of novelty, the 3DS does weigh far heavier in the cool-o-scale. Yes, Kinect is a novelty, is currently gaining momentum albeit in a mild way but it is exponentially ridiculous. The move is where I see a wide range of possibilities. The 3DS however is a handheld that can provide three-dimensional visuals that you can bring anywhere, that's what makes it cool.

And the other way around too. Notice that graphics, and processing power (729 MHz IBM Broadway processor for wii and 3.2 GHz PowerPC with three processor cores for the 360) of the xbox beat the wii badly. While the tech may beat the wii. the wii has lots of innovation. i.e. wiimotion+, wii zapper, wii wheel.

I wouldn't count Wii Zapper a piece of innovation, nor the Wii Wheel due to the fact that they're just pieces of plastic, AND they also have been done before.

Looking forward to The Conduit 2 and CoD: Black Ops for DS

couldn't you connect the genesis and game gear before that. Also watlz was saying that nintendo didn't invent any of these things. They just used them in innovate ways.

The 3DS 3D screen has already been used in a couple of cameras.

I'd rather have hardware technology then software. Without good hardware the software is limited. Thats why the wii will never reach its full potential. I can imagine playing many HD only games using the wiimote+. Elder Scrolls and fallout would be perfect for that control scheme.

I subscribe to Nintendo Power as well, and they never mentioned that Luigi's Mansion would come to 3DS.

I know that they didn't say it straight out but the tone and spirit of Mr. Hideki Konno's comments regarding the Nintendo 3DS and Luigi's Mansion hinted at the fact that the gentlemen at Nintendo of Japan really are considering bringing Luigi's Mansion to the Nintendo 3DS. Of course it might not happen but I believe that the likelihood of it actually happening might be more than it not happening.

I mean we do want Luigi's Mansion 3DS don't we?

@TokyoRed: basically, you read what you wanted to read out of it; 'spirit' is such a subjective thing. also, you want to keep in mind that the Japanese will go out of their way not to give a definite 'yes' or 'no' when it comes to things like this in business.

Thanks blackdragon. I guess I'm overly excited for Luigi's Mansion. I really do like that game. T_T

Indeed, good point. Especially with the Wii innovations. Regarding the Xbox graphics, we all do indeed realise that, and so did Nintendo. That's why they stepped up their game with other resources, for example as you said, wireless innovations. Now they're focused on getting so top-dog, they're introducing a handheld competing with the graphics of an Xbox/PS2. Far better acheived than anything else Sony or Microsoft set their own heights to.
