Does anyone know the formula they use to determine points awarded/lost after a Battle Spot battle? I know more points are gained/lost if the gap is bigger, but how much I wonder. Say you screwed around at the start of the season and tanked your rating down in the 1300's... then won a few in a row against some 1700+ opponents. Not that I PLAN on doing that, but.... I was just curious.

@all also, I think a few of you that have been on here for long while are venturing into what I would refer to as "Borderline IRL Friend" territory. What's interesting is that I'm not nearly as "polite" to my friends as I am to you guys on this type of platform. That said, if, in the future I say anything rude, crude, or socially impolite... it probably just means I've grown comfortable with you guys. Disclaimer over.

@lordblackenhand It seems to me that there are around 30 points of change with each match. The difference in each participants rating determines the points. If you are closely matched in ratings, the winner will probably get around 15 points, and the loser will lose around 15 points. If it's a moderate difference the higher rated player would get around 10 points for winning and lose 20 if they lost and vise versa. If the ratings were extremely far apart then the break would be closer to gaining 5 points for winning and losing 25 if they lost and vise versa.

There is no known formula, but it pretty much is what leftwing said. For example, if your rating is 1900 and you lose to a 1300 rated person.. you are going to MAJORLY drop, and that person is going to rise sky high. However if you beat that person, your rating will only rise by a small amount since just fighting mediocre people to reach 1900 wouldn't exactly make you worthy of the rank your in.

Got a shiny! Never hatched the shiny spinarak, but I moved on to hatch a shiny mienfoo instead.. didn't work out. Went to the friend safari on x, the day before got a shiny pancham.. now today I finally got a shiny mienfoo!
