Ooh snap. Bad missplay on L8SZ by your opponent at the end. If his Weavile had used Feint against your Abamasnoww instead of Fake Out when his Talonflame Flare Blitzed... that would have been GG for him. Silly too, with Trick Room gone, both his pokemon were faster. No reason to fake out.

Went 4-0 tonight to bring me to a rating over 1700! The first was against a player in the mid 1600's, the 2nd and 3rd against low 1700's Japanese players, and the last one against a Japanese player with an 1810 rating!! Here are the battles:
ZWNG-WWWW-WWXF-TR8D
ZZZG-WWWW-WWXF-TTVV
73VW-WWWW-WWXF-UBAT
MPBG-WWWW-WWXF-UBBE

What's neat is that you are able to set up trick room reliably. And if not for Dragalge and Camerupt the team doesn't scream Trick Room. I bet if you assembled some decent speed attackers instead of those two, and completely tanked their speed stat or gave them Iron Ball you could advertise a team that's not Trick Room and catch a lot of people off guard.

Edit: Abamasnow

Edit: Abamasnow

@lordblackenhand Good idea, trick room Gengar actually won Nationals last year in the seniors division. That was kinda why I chose Dragalge. It's so unused I feel nobody knows much about it. It'll be hard to ditch Abomasnow with its immense power and 100% blizzard. I'll look around though.

@lordblackenhand Actually Politoed and Mega Blastoise are slow enough to be useful in trick room while not being obvious in place of Dragalge and Mega Abomasnow. I could tank their speed on purpose, then still open as usual, bring out Blastoise instead of Abomasnow and then switch Chandelure for Politoed to bring the rain. I may test that later, but being I'm so hot with the team I have I will leave it as is for this weekends online tournament.

Cool man. I look forward to you sharing more matches.

You know, I've been thinking a lot about the Feint option for doubles this past week. With so so much Protect used it seems like a viable option. Do you often see people (or yourself) use it to break through Protect a secure a KO? Other than Mega Pinsir anyway. Thoughts?

I'll take the slap on the hand if they choose to dish it.

Cattitude is Kaeli's handle on Showdown. I built the team for her. A work in progress.

WELL... 2000 eggs... NO SHINY SPINARAK.. this is pretty annoying.

However I DID make a one mon from each gen team.. I'm just looking for a good battle to use it in and post. The reason why I went ahead and built it prematurely, is because I got signed up in xChrisKobain's multigen tournament this saturday on twitch. So I kinda had to work on it ASAP.. and unforunately the one I planned just wasn't good enough for something this extreme. I'll post details on the team itself tomorrow (it's late).

I'm assuming Nintendolife would at least give me an "Official" warning before banning me? At least I hope so.

Yeah they would, at worst the post would probably just be deleted. Mods don't really come to this thread much to see whatsup but in the discussion forum it's happened a few times.

Its probably like their Pokegen relations... "We are not affiliated with those guys" and yet, they know that it just keeps more people interested and buying pokemon games. $$$ for them.

@lordblackenhand That was the first time I saw feint in a long time, like months ago. I think it's nice to take the option of protecting away and scoring the obvious hit you wanted to make. The only problem is that the other Pokemon is free to pick off either of your two Pokemon being you're not protecting yourself. Could be situational if the other Pokemon isn't a threat.

I had a rough start with my team in the tournament. I started 4-0 then ended up 6-4. Then I played four matches on rated, and split them 2-2. One of my losses was against the 12th ranked player in the world with over a 2000 rating. I know now that I need to give my Chandelure protect after my box gets unlocked after the tournament. Here's the scenario, I opened with my standard lead, and he opened with Landorus T and Cresselia. I immediately knew that he wanted to earthquake and icy wind to get rid of my Chandelure. I could have protected Chandelure and spored Landorus. Being I didn't have protect I had to take a chance and still go for rage powder and trick room hoping that Cresselia went for scald or psychic. I was thinking of switching in Abomasnow, being I knew Abomasnow woulda taken earthquake like a champ, but I've been seeing a lot of sashed Landorus now in the higher ratings, so I knew I'd be dead the next turn with a super power. So I went for my play, and I predicted exactly what he was gonna do; earthquake and icy wind. Without trick room up I had no chance. I did manage to feint his Landorus the next turn by barely surviving its super power and getting a blizzard off and the hail damage after that. Very frustrating being protect would have given me the upper hand in that battle. The 2-2 actually raised me to a 1722 rating, 9 points better than the night before.

@Leftwingzero Definitely situational, for those times when there is a big threat. I've only used it a few times and of those few only broke a protect two times. But the payoff was big.

Scarf Lando-T is crazy. If you did add in Blastoise have him carry fake out to help set up trick room?

More recent battles, here are two from a couple nights ago:
ZHUW-WWWW-WWXH-9CWJ
K77W-WWWW-WWXH-9CXR

Here are two more that I just had that should put me near 1750 after going 2-0 tonight against two players in the high 1600's. The American player was at 1699, so basically a 1700 rated player.
7AMW-WWWW-WWXH-99B3
2QNG-WWWW-WWXH-99BV

With the last code here, I already got to adjust from one of my losses in the tournament this weekend. The oppenent opened with Talonflame and Thundurus to shut down trick room from getting set. The first time I bit at the bait and Talonflame was faster, so it ko'ed Amoonguss and Thundurus taunted my Chandelure preventing trick room from being set. This time around I was wiser and protected with Amoonguss to block the obvious brave bird, and this time used shadow ball on the Talonflame. The Thundurus still taunted me as predicted but now the following turn I was able to rage powder to trade ko's with Talonflame and Amoonguss after recoil, plus get a huge chunk of damage off onto Thundurus giving me the upper hand in the battle even without trick room being up. Then another smart play at the end sealed it for me. I won't spoil that one though, you'll just have to see it for yourselves.
