A free minigame for the Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit has appeared to download on the game's News Channel. Called 'Alien Bopping', it's a simple whack-a-mole game challenging you to bash as many aliens on the head as you possibly can in 60 seconds.
Rather than appearing on the list of 64 minigames in the VR Plaza, this one is accessible from the Toy-Con Garage - you'll have to go there and save it manually to your own list if you want to keep it (or adapt it yourself).
To download the game yourself, simply head into your Switch's news channel list, find the Labo VR Channel containing the 'Alien Bopping' post, scroll to the bottom and click the link (with the cart inserted, of course). The game will fire up as usual but if you head to the Toy-Con Garage on the blue 'Discover' page, you'll find the above data loaded. From there you can press play to try the game and do with it as you will.
Releasing minigames in this manner is a nice way to lead players into the Toy-Con Garage area of the game and show just how comprehensive it is. As you can see from the spaghetti junction of nodes and connections in the screen shot above, even something as simple as this looks pretty complicated, but the suite of options available to create your own games is very impressive. As we said in our review, it's definitely worth checking out if you're even the tiniest bit interested in game design.

sounds neat! i wonder if this is something theyll do more of in the future
I still can’t fathom why they wouldn’t include an in-game sharing store. The amount of games built would be much less than Smash, so moderation would’t be a problem. And it would be so convenient both for players and Nintendo to add new levels.
@pinta_vodki
There should really be in game sharing in this. I wouldn’t make a game simply for myself. I’d like to share it with others and I’d like to see how creative other people get. You know, like in Mario Maker 2 or Dreams.
A little late don't you think? I got this in my switch news feed two days ago.
@pinta_vodki couldnt agree more. its already hard enough to share creations since its hard to records videos with the joycon itself with labo vr. i dunno if they just want labo to be a tight community but cmon let us share creations
@iRiS what channel is it? Nintendo Labo? I don't have a Labo VR (dedicated for the VR set) channel. What is your region?
@Prolix My region is the Americas and I believe it was on the Nintendo Labo channel.
@iRiS thank you, pal. There is no mention of this game in my feed. I guess my Europe region is to blame.
So Nintendo can add new mini games via the Garage mode basically like some user uploading it, but it won't let other Labo VR users do similarly.
Again, huge missed opportunity here imo.
Well, I hope Nintendo at least continues more and more extra mini games like this for it for a while at least.
