@FX29 I don't think they ever had little faith in the game otherwise Nintendo and Yamagami wouldn't have ever greenlit the project. They were always aware of Monolithsoft's ability and potential to make amazing RPGs as well fill a big gap in their portfolio of genres (which is one of the reasons they decided to buy them) but they knew it would only appeal to a niche audience cause it's a J-RPG and a new IP, however they always knew the IP had so much more room for growth, especially once the first Xenoblade was a critically acclaimed hit. NoA maybe not so much back then, but Nintendo Japan was pushing for the series and funding it and are the ones who matter most.
"@KateGray Lately I feel like it’s been very JRPG-focused, you know? With Live A Live, Chrono Cross, Earthbound, and Triangle Strategy, it feels like that’s somehow the direction that we’re going in."

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Is Eating Up Views On YouTube
@Dazman Yeah, you want to play games for kids.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Is Eating Up Views On YouTube
@Dazman As opposed to Mario and Zelda that look like they were designed to impress little kids?
See how dumb this sounds? Your comment is idiotic.

Xenoblade 3: "Am I a joke to you?"
It's a wild ride, this passage of exclusion.
