Re: Game Journalist Doubles Down On Zelda News At Upcoming Nintendo Direct

@RadioHedgeFund I agree. Release timing is very underrated. MP trilogy makes perfect sense to hold on to seeing as not much news were given about MP4 and wasn't releasing soon. Imo, when they'll finally announce MP4 release date, they'll also reveal the trilogy to be released months earlier for people to be able to play the prequels.

Wether or not it is announced this month, Releasing the Zelda games and metroid prime trilogy makes tremendous amount of sense to me.

For Zelda, Nintendo has ported almost all of the Wii U game they published. It's obvious if the Wii U sold poorly and Switch is hot cake, all those people who didn't buy the Wii U and bought the Switch are extra potential buyers since they never got those HD ports. They're not dumb enough to port everything on Wii U besides their biggest franchise Zelda to Switch.

For Metroid Prime Trilogy, are they expecting people who never played the series to buy Metroid Prime 4 when they didn't even play 1-2-3? They need to give easy access to the trilogy to new players who may be interested in MP. I am not speaking about boomers like me who had a chance to play those on gamecube/wii era. My guess was always to announce the trilogy about 6 months before the release date of 4 to spice up the release of MP4.

@NEStalgia You already have the FOMO effect in action for every CE because you can only buy them within a specific time frame. People will still fear of not buying it before it is no longer possible. I don't see how heavily limiting the amount of copies is beneficial for the publisher. The only way I can see it be beneficial is if the publisher decides to overprice the product themselves by marketing it as a rare product. The money will go in their pocket. But in this case the CE is not that expensive and maybe much more people wants it, so why not keep selling it more? The money a scalper makes gives nothing to the publisher.

Imo, the best way to beat scalper is to keep releasing the product until most people gets it. If most consumer are happy, scalpers would've hogged much more copies than actual people needing the item. They would lose time and/or money. I know I am very much dreaming. Hoping nintendo makes other wave seeing how well it sells.
