Personally, I’m not a fan — but Game Key Cards are better than digital downloads, since you can resell or lend them. It’s essentially a digital game with a physical presence. The issue I have is that I don’t trust Nintendo to keep the ability to redownload and play the game forever. In that sense, you're at the mercy of the company’s whims — and they don’t care about you, only about profit.
If I had a choice between a physical cartridge for $10 more or a Game Key Card, I’d pay the extra for the physical version.
Nintendo’s survey questions:
I want to buy Game Key Cards as much as possible.
I would rather buy a Game Key Card.
I can’t choose either.
I would rather buy the download version.
I want to buy the download version as much as possible.
These are geared toward getting the answers Nintendo wants — not the truth. They’re not comparing Game Key Cards with physical cartridges here.
Of course Game Key Card > digital. But the survey is biased — there’s no option to say you’d rather not choose either. The only middle ground is a vague neutral option.
I can’t believe how poorly designed this survey is. I already know the results will favor Game Key Cards.
I actually really like the look of this game, I just hope they tell a good story with it. It kinda looks like rusty goes to a forbidden place and touches something that releases evil on the world and then he has to right his wrongs...
