The NBA series returns to the Switch 2 this September, and after a somewhat disappointing start last year, 2K has now shared an exciting update about NBA 2K27 for Nintendo ballers.

Developer Visual Concepts has officially confirmed this latest entry will make the jump from 30 FPS to 60 FPS on the Switch 2 in the game's "Performance Mode". Here's the official developer Q&A about this via social media:

A: Yes - NBA 2K27 runs at 60 FPS on Switch 2, in Performance Mode. That means the same smooth, responsive feel you get on every other platform, whether you're docked or in handheld.

When 2K26 arrived on the Switch 2 last September, it was capped at 30 FPS. We noted in our review at the time how this frame rate might be a "no-go for some" but the game still looked and played "well enough" on Nintendo's new hybrid platform.
