Nintendo Live is returning later this year! This event usually focuses on current games, tournaments, and music events all around Nintendo games. The last show was held in 2019, but Nintendo fans won't need to wait another year as the expo is coming back in 2022!
Nintendo confirmed the event's return on Twitter earlier today and revealed that it will be held at the Tokyo Big Site in Odaiba on the weekend of 8th and 9th October. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Nintendo Switch Sports, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will all be making an appearance at the convention, but the big news is that this event will host the first Splatoon 3 tournament and concert!
Splatoon fan account @SplatoonCafe shared the news:
This event comes just a month after Splatoon 3 launches on Switch, on 9th September. The tournament will be split into two groups — one for Elementary school-aged kids and under, and one with no age restrictions.
Attendees will be selected from a lottery (due to coronavirus restrictions), and you can apply to attend the show from 27th July (if you want to compete). General admission opens on 1st September.
We've already heard some of Splatoon 3's music, and if the samples are anything to go by, that concert is sure to be a winner:

Question : Are you looking forward to Splatoon 3?
Me : NO. I wish the not so popular games like ARMS get more appreciation than shooter games all the time.
I would like to join in ARMS competition again.
Nintendo should make ARMS 2 instead with better features since I have strong interest with cartoonish boxing games.
I hope this also means more surreal Inkling concerts like we got at the last Nintendo Live.
splatoon is missing a battle pass. there zero point in playing the game to see whats better a potato or a lemon! i loved the gameplay but nothing to play for its junk.
Metroid Dread needs a battle pass. I beat the game but all I got was a stupid credits roll.
I'm going to be in Japan in September, so I'll get this as there'll be a good vibe around the game,
but I'm not seeing much to differentiate it from 2 yet to be honest.
Particularly I had hopes they'd expand the single player, as I think it's underrated.
Oh snap, that's pretty cool. I wonder who they're gonna show off at the concert.
...I guess the better question on that is, who the idols of the third game will be.
