Dovetail Games, developer of popular simulators such as Train Simulator 2022 and Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour, has announced that it's reeling in its latest fishing game to Nintendo Switch today!
Bassmaster Fishing 2022 - Super Deluxe Edition makes the jump from PC and consoles to the hybrid system and brings the world of competitive fishing to you at home or on the go. The new release comes with the Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack, which grants you access to Deluxe B.A.S.S. equipment and clothing. On top of that, you'll be getting four pieces of additional DLC — two of which offer new fishing gear, and the other two offering two new real-life locations to get your competitive fish on.
The best part, though? You can fish to your heart's content using your Joy-Cons! Dovetail Games has introduced full motion control support with the Switch release. So it'll feel like you're actually doing all of the fishing yourself. Just maybe don't play it on a boat.
You'll also be able to compete in a fishing battle royale. Yes, really! Bassmaster Royale throws you into the lake with other fishers and challenges you to be the last fisher standing. Or you can just go for a relaxing fish with friends. But you'll need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play through either of these.
That's enough fishing for details from us though — here's what you need to know about the game from Dovetail Games itself!
Bassmaster® Fishing 2022 - Super Deluxe Edition arrives on the Switch System™ with support for motion controls using the Joy-Con™ controllers, delivering maximum immersion as players feel every flick of their wrist as they cast their lines out into the bass-filled waters. Whether players choose one of the 10 officially licensed Bassmaster Elite Series™ anglers such as the title star Scott Martin, 2-time Bassmaster Classic® Champion Hank Cherry, or creating their own custom character, they can learn to play like the pros!
“We’re thrilled to bring our authentic sports fishing experience to the Nintendo Switch,” said Jon Rissik, CEO of Dovetail Games, “Motion controls bring the fishing experience to a whole new level, and we can’t wait for players to jump in and play our first game released on a Nintendo platform!”
Bass fans will begin their careers in the College Series, mirroring where many professional bass anglers got their start, working their way up through Bassmaster Opens, Elite Series events, and eventually earning a spot in the coveted Bassmaster Classic®. Anglers will be able to unlock and upgrade additional gear and boats as they progress through the Career Mode of the game to help them on their journey, and new customizable outfits for their characters to show off their personality in-game. With all five DLCs included, players have a wealth of cosmetic customizations and 11 real-world venues to fish, ranging from the largemouth hotspots of Chickamauga Lake to the dense backwaters of the Sabine River.
You can reel in Bassmaster Fishing 2022 - Super Deluxe Edition yourself on the Switch eShop for $44.99 / €39.99 / £34.99. But, from now until 6th July, you can download this complete version of the ultimate fishing experience for 50% off.

"How can we make fishing exciting?"
"I dunno, just add some guitar music, that makes everything more epic than it has any right to be."
Anything is a sport with sponsors now. Ah well hopefully its audience finds it fun.
What about the stupid plastic fishing rod for your controllers to go in? Now THAT would be SUPER DELUXE EDITION REDUX +1
The reviews are in!
It's at least a C+
Every time a fishing game comes out that isn't a port of Wii Fishing Resort, a part of me dies.
Well here's Big the Cat: The Fishing Game for anyone who can't wait for the Sonic Frontiers' version.
@Ryu_Niiyama, I think "professional fishing" has been a thing for decades (even as a kid I think I remember my dad watching it from time to time).
Not terribly interested in it (or the game) myself though.
Give me bass fishing and Sega marine fishing over this anyday!
@thecricket I stupidly sold my copy of Fishing Resort before its price skyrocketed. I have sellers regret not only for lost money, but also because I miss that brilliant game.
@inenai It's actually a really good game. It's no Fishing Resort, but I'd say it's a good 8/10.
@TowaHerschel7 That sucks because it really is brilliant! I've been wanting the rod attachment for years but can't stomach the asking price. What a bummer.
