Originally released on the Sega Dreamcast back in 2013, Sturmwind EX has since seen a digital release on the Switch eShop – and now, thanks to publisher Pix'n Love, it's getting a physical version that comes with loads of goodies.
The limited edition – of which only 2000 copies will be made – comes in a special 'steelbook' case and includes an art book, lithographs and a numbered certificate. It costs 59.90 € / $59.85 | £43.08. A 'standard' version is also on offer, and that costs 34.90 € / $41.87 / £30.13.
Both versions will be available to order direct from the publisher.
Here's some PR:

Have this on Dreamcast and it’s a fantastic game will be double dipping
Not used pix n’ before so might give them a go with this or windjam 2
Nice. The original on DC was excellent for the size of the staff that crafted it.
Didn’t orders for this open in May 2021? Thats when I ordered my copy.
Sturmwind is one of the few shmups on Switch that I don't own. Always meant to buy it then totally forgot about it. I think I'll buy it over the weekend.
On another note, please review Eschatos. That game deserves some attention. A sublime shmup.
Old news, this preorder opened back in May. Maybe Pix'n Love resent PR for the release because it didn't sell out immediately like their other limited editions usually do?
It was exciting when it came out on Dreamcast. On Switch I bought it digitally but still, I just can't get into this one. It reminds me too much of a bad Euro Shmup.
@FX102A yeah something like that. My copy actually arrived earlier this week, so it’s definitely not a preorder.
@OorWullie Agreed I pretty much have all the top tier shmups on Switch and Eschatos has gone straight in to my top 3 faves it's a very satisfying game!
@Magician
The timing coincides with stock shipping out.
I got my Sturmwind EX Collector's Edition earlier this week after a very long wait.
Still waiting on Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1 here.
@OorWullie A review is coming!
@RupeeClock Nice. Unfortunately my copy won't be in my hands until early next week. However, my order for Crown Trick from Funstock should be in my hands today.
@Damo Nice one.
@Magician
If you ordered a collector's edition too, be warned that the contents aren't secured once you remove the plastic wrap.
It uses a sleeve instead of a box to hold the game, steelbook, and art book, so nothing holds it together when stored vertically.
@Texasinstrument I think I'd put it in my top 3 too, I love everything about it. It's one I'll always come back to as well, as there's so much content in there.
Think I’ll wait and see if it gets released for US. If not then I’ll purchase it.
@OorWullie Not sure how much time I've put into Sturmwind, it's decent only problem is the backgrounds occasionally blend into foreground because of the brighter 2000's colours / Euro graphics. I'm debating getting either Deathsmiles or the new Cotton game for this weekend!
I just got my order finally. Didn't know when I got the order which this was for.
@PessitheMystic Might be a while before I get it as at the time they didn’t ship to the UK, so sent to the In-Laws.
