Japanese Charts: Rhythm Heaven Groove Surpasses 1 Million Boxed Units Sold

Still waiting on the numbers for Groove internationally, but that's incredible! So happy to see this series finally get a win. Hopefully the next game doesn't take another decade lol

Seems like the Switch 2 is gradually rising back to 30k a week. Possibly the demand has balanced back out now its far enough past those gigantic weeks before the price rise.

Hopefully, with those numbers from Groove, they can start making more Rhythm Heaven games in the future.

Happy Groove is doing so well. I've almost gotten all the Perfects which I never expected I'd be able to do. It's a great game and deserves all the success it's getting.

Genuine question, not making fun of it or the fans: As someone who never played this series before, whats so good about this series? Despite loving music games like Taiko no Tatsujin i tried the demo and it wasnt for me, maybe the levels choosen were wrong and later gets interesting? Idk.

@Chrono120 the charm of it all, mostly. and yes, they do get more interesting later on but it's still pretty simple rhythm training

@Chrono120 It's the combination of the challenge to perfect your performance, blended with the fun in the music and supporting sound and visual effects. It's a beautiful purification of the sound-light-input-output dynamic in video games. It's the GOTY.

For anyone who cares, I did some research since NL hasn't done one of these since the week that ended on the 23rd of August.

Neptunia Unlimited on PS5 landed 17th with around 3,000 sales, woof. Switch 2 is a few places lower. I know there's digital sales to factor in too, but considering that even spin-offs that got overall worser reviews sold around 10-ish thousand copies back in the late 2010s and early 2020s, it really isn't a great start 😂.

Also mentioning that in the second week, it is nowhere to be found in the charts at all, from what I saw. Oh well. I'll still support the English translation as long as it's not butchered by politics.

Alright, i might get it then, not right now as i am and will be busy with Touhou, Fire Emblem, Ocarina of Time, Onimusha. MH Wilds and Stellar Blade, maybe next year i will get it if its not too crowded like this year.

I would dearly love to see those two SNES horror visual novels, Gakkou de Atta Kowai Hanashi and Tsukikomori, get a super surprise translation and release. Not a hope in hell but a man can dream.
