Dead by Daylight is still a rather popular multiplayer game across pretty much all platforms, as one hunter takes on a team of four survivors. The IP has been a huge success for Behaviour Interactive, and it's had all sorts of crossovers with major franchises from across games, films and TV.

It's now confirmed one of its more intriguing (and arguably lucrative) horror tie-ins, teaming up with Kadokawa Corporation to integrate Ringu (known by many as Ring) into the game. As for how it'll appear in the game, the press release states that it'll be a "new Chapter inspired by Kōji Suzuki’s novel (1991) and the original acclaimed film adaptation (1998)", with talk of "countless gameplay possibilities". Perhaps these wells will be found throughout maps and apply curses and effects, for example, it'll be interesting to see.

“The importance of the Ringu franchise in Japan, and its influence on culture around the world are undeniable. To be given the opportunity to dive into that legendary story as we bring this creation into Dead by Daylight is an immense honour”, says Mathieu Côté, Game Director, Dead by Daylight. “This new Chapter will give our players something intensely dark and troubling, a real heart-pounding experience that adds to the already high intensity of our game.”

“We are very excited about the collaboration with Behaviour Interactive and the Dead by Daylight team. We’ll be sending one of our most haunting characters into the Fog to pour down horrors that will rival all the great predecessors”, shared Reiko Imayasu, Producer, Kadokawa Corporation. “Fans should beware of their heart; this deadly newcomer will definitely strike them, and they will tremble with fear whilst they wait.”

It should be a fun (and no doubt pretty darn spooky) addition to the game; this 'new Chapter' for the game will arrive in March 2022.
