M2 Is Bringing Yet Another Classic Shmup To Switch Next Year

Sky Shark is one of my favorites. Can't wait.

Getting more use out of the Toaplan licenses, eh. Bring them on, I say.

Id never heard of these games, and yet the image of the wrinkly pilot guy is burned into my brain.

Ah! Its called Sky Skark in the US! Thats why. This was one of the few games my dad was really good at, and would play frequently. He got to the point where he could beat all 5 stages about 3 times through without getting game over.

Good times. May pick this one up for nostalgia's sake

Just please bring these M2 ShotTriggers ports to western eShops. Please?!

I love M2's work. These ports and collections they're pumping out are a great addition to the Switch library.

This is awesome though I do wish they included the NES version with its super addictive soundtrack as well. The arcade version look nice but I just could not go back to the blip and blops of that version when Tim Follin did a fantastic job with the 8-Bit version.

I'm sure they announced this earlier this year, but it's nice to hear about it! I love Flying Shark!

@GrailUK Yeap Tim Follin, the guy who upload that video credit him as John so it was his mistake (yes I'm blaming him instead of myself 😁).

I have one rule regarding M2 ShotTriggers releases, and that is, I buy them regardless. They're the best in the business when it comes to preservation and enhancing old shooters, and they deserve all the support they can get.
Looking forward to getting Tiger-Heli next week!

Too bad the NES port of Sky Shark isn't included.
It was a Software Creations port, so that means the music was a banger... if you were able to hear it, which would include not dying constantly.

Awesome! I want another Aleste collection, but I'll buy anything M2 releases.

I love the switch. Handheld arcade right there. I just need some of the 90s licensed side scrolling beatem ups to appear and I am all set.

I'm still waiting for a copy of Tiger Heli to drop below $50 shipped.

I've heard of some of these but I don't know much about them. They do intrigue me though...

I'm interested since I've never played any of these, but I don't know that I'm interested enough to pay $70 for an import.

Yes the console versions are what I remember especially the NES and Genesis games. This is fantastic.

I love these M2 collections to death but man, I wish they would put in that little bit of effort to translate the menus…

So wait for M2 to release each Toaplan game at a snails pace for the sake of “gadgets” or get practically all of the Toaplan and Raizing games in a plastic box with an LCD on it?

I might add that I would literally finance a M2 collection of Twin Eagle I+II for Switch at this point.
Twin Eagle II is my fav shmup of all times. It might be a bit too easy but its such a blast(literally) to play. holy crap.
You can blow up everything on screen. Houses, skyscrapers, trees, cars.

it makes absolutely no sense why this shouldn’t get a western release in digital format. The cost of publishing it must be low, very low commercial risk given the majority of work has been done on emulating them, and a significant market of M2 /shmup / retro fans willing to part their money. Will keep my fingers crossed M2 reconsider releasing this outside Japan.

I wish they would put at least half a dozen different games on a cart. At this rate its gonna take 10 years to get Tatsujin 2 or Dogyuun.
